Is the fuel probe deployed in an attempt to account for the lack of drag from the damaged wing on the starboard side? Better than nothing. Pretty clever. I doubt it was attempting to refuel under those circumstances.

Bug in campaign Operation Reforger 2 Mission 2
JupiterJoe replied to Wizard1393's topic in Bugs and Problems
Apologies, I meant mission 4. I guess you're still working on it. You're doing the Lord's work. God bless you. -
Bug in campaign Operation Reforger 2 Mission 2
JupiterJoe replied to Wizard1393's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hi Rick, did you say a fix for Mission 3 is in the works? -
I downloaded IronMike's updated mission tonight (originally posted January 18th), and it played just fine. I suspect next time there's an update that particular mission will revert back to the original, which doesn't work. Perhaps HB will be kind enough to include the mission file in the next update, so it's permanently written.

LANTIRN head tracking modes move LANTIRN far to the left
JupiterJoe replied to TAIPAN_'s topic in Bugs and Problems
Did we discover what the issue was for this? EDIT: Aha! You have to be below 24k feet and preferably not in a scripted mission where Jester has taken control of the LAINTIRN to follow a vehicle etc. -
As far as I know a crash is likely when 'simple radio' is selected and you try to use Jester to tune. As a workaround you just use the comms menu and the right frequency will be selected automatically.

Speaking of coolant, when 'fencing in', was it protocol to switch on Missile Prep whilst only carrying Sidewinders? If so, why?

F-14A with Supercarrier: incorrect crew signals / Setting Bingo
JupiterJoe replied to escaner's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Yes, I believe it shows A2A weapon selected too. I think that's just something left over from an early build. The Lantirn displays weapon selected in regard to guided bombs. Not a huge deal though. I'd much rather time was spent getting the refuelling probe light working in a useable fashion, or implementing engine fire extinguishers properly. -
F-14A with Supercarrier: incorrect crew signals / Setting Bingo
JupiterJoe replied to escaner's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Could you please name a few of those? Do you mean things like switches being too loud? It makes up for a lack of haptic feedback, so makes logical sense to have that feature. I have no problem with that. An editorial decision has to be made at some point. You can't please all the people, all the time. -

Campaign change log
JupiterJoe replied to Sandman Simulations's topic in DCS: F-14B Operation Sandworm Campaign
Fantastic voices. Feels so real now. Thank you again for all your hard work. -
@Rick_NSXThank you so much for your efforts. I suspect HB may be coming out with their own fix shortly, but we've already been waiting quite a while . Something like an 18 month wait for Reforger II and when it's a released it's a disaster. Reflected Simulations single-handedly released several amazing campaigns in that time-frame and they all worked straight out of the box. I don't think the work you're doing will be wasted though. It's all good practice for when you build you're own F-14 campaign, to put up for sale You could even do a step-by-step video guide on how you built your campaign, so that others may be inspired to do the same.

Feedback Thread F-14 Tomcat, Update 8th June 2023
JupiterJoe replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Are you using VR goggles, with low resolution? -
Does anybody have any idea on how long that sort of stuff remains classified? There are more advanced systems already being simulated in the Hornet and F-15E, are there not?

This amazing footage, released 13 hours ago as of this posting, shows a MFD display I'm curious about. It's referred to as a PTID. Is this an early version of a MFD? Is BIO in an A+? How come Heatblur's B model doesn't have this display? ...Just found this extract from the manual: "Both the F-14A and F-14B received continuous upgrades during their life, including new programmable cockpit displays (PTID and PMDIG) as well as a new INS system, a digital flight control system (DFCS) and an RWR system amongst others.". Anyway, it would be amazing to have such a display for the F-14, but appreciate it would be an incredible amount of work. I'd be happy to pay for such an upgrade. Just sayin'

[RESOLVED] Missing Canopy Lightning Strips
JupiterJoe replied to Dreams's topic in Bugs and Problems
There was a bug where this strip would stay in position when the canopy was raised. I don't know if that's still a thing. -
Campaign change log
JupiterJoe replied to Sandman Simulations's topic in DCS: F-14B Operation Sandworm Campaign
I love your sense of humour that comes across in the dialogue written for this wonderful campaign. Thank you for putting so much effort into continuing to improve it. Strange to see a real life news story today, that echoes one of your missions in the Strait of Hormuz. -
It's refreshing to have a developer who isn't trying to please all the people, all the time.

Feedback Thread F-14 Tomcat, Update 8th June 2023
JupiterJoe replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
No pylons (rails) for the Phoenix. The loadout included one Sparrow behind the Aim-54's. MP server. Nellis. -
@fat creason It's an awesome sound. First time I heard it I got goosebumps. Be very cool to hear it from the cockpit, with the canopy open and helmet off (I'm aware NATOPS procedure means you'd have the canopy closed and helmet on before extending wings), in the event you were 'testing systems'. With canopy closed, helmet on and ECS operating it'd probably be something you'd feel rather than hear in real life, but haptic feedback etc
