upuaut's Bell 47 Alpha release!
Dingo_Bob replied to Hawkeye60's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
parking hot, you'll have a 50/50 chance of a bump at spawn that could break the rotors or tail, best start cold at ramp and run the cheat start-up win&home keys to get going, or if you know the start up procedure use the switches on the center column to get going (same as the Huey, just switches in a different place on the centre console) if your throttle is not moving check the axis binds. if it bound to multiple controller / sliders it may be over riding each other -
MODS by CUBANACE SIMULATIONS
Dingo_Bob replied to cubanace's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Ahhh!!!! hey!!! some of best mods are one line edits, don't knock them :D But yeah Cuban doing an impressive job so far, a one man modding army, like most have said ignore the complainers, been watching both here and your youtube update vids for a while now, they're great and you can see the process of learning and how far you've come from day one newbie to now, can only get better. keep up the work, -
upuaut's Bell 47 Alpha release!
Dingo_Bob replied to Hawkeye60's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
it has to be a copy of the current Huey bin files form the dcs version you're trying to fly the Bell in, ie. 2.2 bins if using 2.2 or 1.5 bins in 1.5 (I have 2 OvGME files set up with the bins for each version and activate / deactivate either one with the mod file separately depending what map / version I'm flying on) you also need to setup & bind the controls for it in the menu before you can launch it in the mission editor, that's why you can't get into aircraft, DCS won't let you into a pit if controls are not bound you'll either get a locked out pit view or the F10 map you can also copy your UH-1H control configs and rename the folder to match the mod's name ie. BELL47 or whatever the correct aircraft file name is that way you have a control set but best to even just set axis in the menus so the game creates the correct file structure in saved games folder -
NTTR and Mirage to steam
Dingo_Bob replied to Airogue's topic in DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range
Iirc, you go to the steam store page for DCS, then into the DLC section, right click on the module you have and there should be a View CD key option, copy it and login to the DCS website and add the keys to your profile -
It's pretty straight forward to do, just create a new text file in notepad++ add the line of text and any other commands you require (like maxfps or cpu affinity etc..) and save it as autoexec.cfg in your saved games\dcs folder

My 1.5 is good 2.2 problems?
Dingo_Bob replied to Fakum's topic in Release Version Bugs and Problems (Read only)
you could also try the digital vibrance slider for your display in nvidia control panel to counter the washed out look, a couple of % to the + side makes a big colour difference (crap phone & crop quaility, needs to been seen on a monitor for proper effect) 75% 50% -
Bellisario really fecked up the JAG story lines in this, Harm became a JAG because he lost his Tomcat certification because of night blindness, so why the f is he flying at night in a storm in this episode :D

damn it Skate :D, you've done it again, I just spent a small while typing instructions to how to set up the mirror tool in another thread, and you come along and update the utility, think that's 3 times now you've made instructional posts of mine redundant :D Great utility, now if only every man/woman and his/her dog would use it :D

you can't turn off the DCS mirror, try Alt & Enter to expand it full screen an set FRAPS or OBS etc to record that alternately if using the Oculus Mirror tool as in that vid you linked then go to the shortcut icon right click it, select properties, on the target line after the .exe enter a space then add the following -height1079 -width1919, so will look like "bla:\bla\bla\oculusmirror.exe" -height1079 - width1919 this will expand the oculus mirror window to almost full screen or just use Skates Utility https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=160053

Awesome, like the overlay of all the traps, gotta say you must be some kind of robot Jar or you're a master of consistency cause it's very close to being only one F-18 touching down :D can't wait to see you guys in the full module should be even more epic :D

it's early doors yet give it time, just looking at the lha****.lua v's the .lua for the other carriers & ships it is written & executed ever so slightly differently so maybe a small change to how it gets called and interacts with the helo's, it's defined as a "AircraftCarrier" and all the helo's have take off and Landing options set with "AircraftCarrier" so yeah something very small in a .lua or the naval database .lua's somewhere need changing

VSN flyable aircraft mods
Dingo_Bob replied to razo+r's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
@BlackLibrary, at a guess it would be because the F-14 & F-18 mods used the SU-33 SFM to enable them land on carriers, since the SU-33 got updated to PFM i'd say the SFM data the mods used no longer exists, so you'd probably have to strip out the mods of anything sfm related and replace it with pfm data to get them to work in 1.5.8, again just a guess the AFM version uses the F-15 files, and that took a while after the F-15 went from SFM to AFM before anyone cracked the .lua setup to get mods working again, so give it time one of the many modders around here will get it cracked eventually / hopefully -
so does the code reset occur if you fluff a takeoff roll / vertical T/O by going wheels of the ground and then putting weight back on again? or does it only reset after weight of - gear up - gear down - weight on sequence?

Not sure what you mean by manual, for the sim in general? yeah maybe some pointers on the mission editor etc.. etc.. sure, but that hasn't changed much in use over years. as for modules each one has it's own manual found here **driveofchoice:\DCS World*version of chioice*\Mods\aircraft\**Aircraftofchoicename**\Doc\*aircraftofchoice.pdf* which usually get updated if / when the module does Then there's also Charly Owl's guides which are an absolute must have just for the sheer quality of them alone, even if you don't have a module they are worth the read :D https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=135765 and if you really want to get deeper knowledge you can always source the real NATOPS and aircraft manuals
-
have you Tried the DAWS weather mod, probably the easiest way to get current weather details into the sim for any airport reporting metar data, https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=144855&highlight=DAWS+weather edit: actually never mind it's not compatible anymore :(
-
you can still use and fire them by manual selecting the pylon from the armament panel, Smudge made a vid with a similar loadout go to 97 seconds
-
used to be able to mimic a para drop, set the crew to 10 or 11, set a trigger to set aircraft damage to 10% at the drop point all the crew except the pilot jumps out, plane flys away to land, not sure if that still works though, or it may have been a mist script I can't remember

1.5 is free to play, 2.0 is alpha currently which requires either Nevada or Normandy @ $$ to use the maps, so if you have the space get 1.5 & pay for 2.0 best of both worlds :D eventually 1 or 2 become one in 2.5 (sounds like the words of a bit spice girl song :D )
-
^^ this, and if you start a new mission file in the editor you can choose any of the Neutrals and move to red or blue, there's also a save global check box or some similar worded option that keeps the factions the way you saved for good within the editor

Nice should be good fun, now they just need to add in a few more and have a progressive training campaign and it would be awesome, so you could start basic training in Yak move up to Tucano then L39C/C101/Hawk then T2 / T38 then finally graduating to a full size fighter / bomber etc..
