And that's Early access in a nut shell folks. :) If you're prone to being impatient than I suggest waiting... as you're only going to be frustrated along the way.
For me I pre-ordered day one!
They might run in Wine or Proton but it would be best if they were reprogrammed and recompiled to run in both. I doubt that's a simple thing to do. :(
BTW this is my 300th post so:.... They cold also try yelling "THIS IS SPARTA!!!!!"
Well I dual boot and run Linux Mint 19.x as my desktop and only run win 10 when playing games like DCS. Actually I manage to play lots of games on Linux because of WINE and steams Proton so as time goes on I'm using windows less and less.
So for me and probably a bunch of others we would probably make our own run level and strip out unnecessary software at boot and be good to go; no need for a dedicated ISO.
Drivers and Input devices would really be a headache for some. :(
Commodore 64? You're talking about 'War Games' right. That would be an modified IMSAI 8080.

Unless of course I'm missing something.
Don't they just stick the equivalent of an Ipad on their leg and have moving map features, Flight planning, Comms, etc, etc? I'd rather have that.
Or is that before this aircraft's time.
Sadly the Rift-S is a no go for me. IPD too small. So I'm in that 30% bracket. Its either an Index or hold my breath and wait for Oculus to make an equivalent.
If the reviews are really positive with the Index that's the direction I'll be leaning.
I kinda have a feeling nobody needs your account info. They just have to have the same modules as you... If they were to log out, then make a copy of their DCS folder with the modules you have on to your USB drive. When you copy it to your drive and then log in, it will make you activate your modules. Since you already have them in the proper folders it will just reactivate with your ID.
NineLine will probably be around in a bit to clarify how this could be done properly without risking your ID info.
Or scold us for potential piracy. :(
The black shark is complicated and the SAS takes getting use to.
The Mi-8 is probably the best overall helicopter in the game.
The Huey is probably easiest to get use to and for me its a close second to the Mi-8 in overall nice... so I'm going to second the Huey as its easy to transition to the Mi8 or BlackShark once you've done the huey.
I'm going to caution you though. Hover practice a lot... and I mean a lot. You're going to be twerking and jerking in your seat like someone was trying to remove a body part. But eventually you'll get the hang of it and once you do then...
Transition to flight out of and into a hover while avoiding the dreaded VRS.
Sadly we don't have multi crew ATM (minus the Gazelle) because helicopters are the one area that would really pay off having someone talk you through it.
Good luck.
ETA: One last thing, you better have rudder pedals because you're going to need them. ;)
