  1. It is complicated. Designed by an engineer. Also making it much more flexible & customizable than if features were hidden to make it more user friendly. I too have had little problems getting it to work how I want after finding the correct guides. I document what I did to make it work so I don't have to look it up again next time. 2. Ahhh.. OK, got it. Thanks.. [emoji6] Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk
  3. Could you explain how you can use the AP/CSS when landing on carriers (in the pattern), and free fall bombing? And do you have a joystick button dedicated to the AP? Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk
  4. Have you tried a repair? Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk
  5. Ok. I didn't know about the CSS Mode. So this seems to be user error/lack of knowledge. Thanks. That is probably why Tom thought a deadzone might prevent, what I said was BALT disengaging. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk
  6. The install folder instruction on your first post says to use folder AV8B. But it should be AV8BNA... Also, I am not sure if these are the stock training that comes with DCS, or what? The first post also says these are the missions that will come out with a patch on that following Wednesday back in 2018?
  7. I did set a 10 Deadzone on the Y/Pitch Axis. Flew it with this Deadzone and again without. No difference. Attached is a flight, flying straight ahead. It appears that when I move the stick there is a certain smaller point of movement which removes the colon from the BALT setting. And a larger level of movement which removes/Disables the BALT AP. I would expect them to be linked together.. When AP is disabled, the : is removed. But this is not the case. FA18c AP Colon BAL Fly Straight.trk
  8. I'm not at my pc now. But normally if I spawn in and just fly straight and turn on BALT I will get the :. It seem like I can get this problem to happen if I first turn the plane and level out first. Then turn on BALT. Do you want me to watch the track again to see when it first happens? Or maybe I could start a few new flights and document when it starts? .. Or if I can see a consistent sequence of events that lead up to it. But this seemed like such a random occurance over the past several months that it was just an annoyance. So I never paid much attention to the cause. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk
  9. I had to watch the track over again to get your answers.
  10. Oops, yea, .. I forgot to remove my mods in the previous tracks. Attached is a track after I removed all of my mods, repaired, and cleaned. I even used a clean Saved Games OB folder. This is the Instant Action/Free Flight Mission for the FA18c. It is still happening.. FA18 AP No Colon - No Mods, Repaired, Cleaned, New SavedGames folder too.trk
  11. It should have nothing to do with my stick. The aircraft obviously goes into BALT and RALT. AP is working. When it is enabled, the : should be on. They are 'linked'. I'll wait for some official response from ED. Thanks.
  12. OB Tracks. Tracks.rar
  13. I should eliminate all mods for a pure test first. If it still happens I'll make a track. But what is the 'Special' AP mode you are talking about? Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk
  14. Hmmm. OK. Guess I'll try removing all my mods and adjust the ufc brightness. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk
  15. I have noticed this for months, but this is the first time I am posting about it.. Sometimes (often it seems), when I select the autopilot, and click on an option (usually BALT or RALT) I don't see the : symbol in front of the selected option. There is no way to tell which option is enabled. However, the Altitude is being held for me. When I move my stick a little, I can only turn left or right. Up and down is locked it, as it should be. Is this a bug? Why doesn't the : indicator appear? Also, when you turn AP, IFF, TCN.. On/Off. Are you supposed to 'HOLD' the On/Off button for a few seconds? Or just press it like a normal button? (I think I read somewhere that you should hold it.) But often pressing or holding it does not show the 'ON' text, or does not clear the display when I press Off. The Manual just says this about the On/Off button: ON/OFF Pushbuttons. Activates or deactivates selected function
  16. I'm just learning the SA Page. In the bottom/right corner it has the Target info. The BRA only shows Bearing and Range (no Alt)?
  17. Not sure what you are saying... The 'Save Snapview' keys are RAlt+Np0 AFAIK. And that does not work.
  18. Snapviews are only internal in the cockpit AFAIK..
  19. I don't like the Reshade installer. So I just made it into a Ovgme mod, so I can easily uninstall it. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk
  20. With the F4 Look Back View (specifically I'm using the Hornet right now..) is it possible to save your view so it always starts in the position that you customize wit the RCtrl+RShift+ Numpad 4,6,8,2 keys? It's a pain to setup a nice view, then go back into the cockpit (F1), and loose that view. You have to reposition the f4 view every time you use it. :joystick:
  21. I would not update the firmware unless I had a reason. Surely not just because "it's time". If you have things working how you want, leave it alone. I have updated 3-4 times to fix things. Now it's working great and how I want. Always save your old firmware and flash back if necessary. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk
  22. Just tested it with the FA18 and P-51 in the OB. Works for me. Have you tried a game repair?
  23. I'm going to have to finally try my old A10a night mission where I drop night flares to light up the battlefield and kill a bunch of tanks. Tried to play that with a Noob friend a year ago after he bought the A10a, but it was FUBAR with the cockpit all lit up. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk
