I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm not sure if this makes sense in the long-term plan for DCS World.. but, I think simply making the Mission Briefing Images allow for display of a Webpage plugin/widget would allow users to make much more immersive briefing. It would allow for all kinds of interactive and video content like in a real pilot briefing room. In addition to the static text and images; Webpages allow for display of videos, flash, pdfs, gifs, and other forms of interactive content.

I've been playing since Lomac first came out. I vividly remember seeing the ads and previews and waiting for the day that I could buy it. I thought I would disagree with most of what was said in that video, but after I watched it I have to agree with much of it. Personally, I am bored with playing missions and online because I don't get the immersion factor. DCS World seems to me more of a 'Trainer' than anything else. I can learn procedures on certain aircraft, but after that, it's up to the community to make it 'fun', and that's not how it should be. I think a Dynamic Campaign would definitely help that. And some video or interactive Mission Brief. I would also like to see other improvements with the weather, ATC/Comms and other things mentioned, but to get excited again I need the immersion.

So the way you describe it, the Overlay window will be attached to your controller? And always visible? If so I don't think I would like that. I don't even want to use my Hand Controllers at all. I don't use VR in DCS much because I can't see my related documents. And putting them all in the Checklist is not a great option. I wish that OVR Toolkit would work, and then I might also be interested in those Point Controllers that attached to your fingers maybe. PS: Can you run DCS in Compatability Mode for Windows 7? Curtis said this was the fix for Elite Dangerous. When I do this DCS crashes immediately. It would be nice to know if it works on other systems..

If you want something with a hook, I would recommend the FA-18c which is a full clickable cockpit, or Su33, which is not a clickable cockpit and easier to learn. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk

PS: I made a Poll to see if there is enough interest in this to get the developers willing to make something work. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=252256

For Non-Steam DCS World users only: How Interested are you in have a VR Overlay tool that works in native DCS(non-Steam): I've been trying several tools to let me place Overlays in DCS and work well. I wanted to place my HOTAS Layout; Radar & Weapon Types Cheetsheets; and other things.. Yesterday, I just used Oculus Windows, OVR Toolkit(SteamVR), and HelloV. I could only get Oculus Windows to appear, but they stay visible all the time, and are in your line of view. OVR Toolkit was the best one I tried. But it would not work in DCS(nonsteam). I liked that I could make the windows invisible until I leaned closer to them, then they appeared. I think these developers would be more interested in working on making this work if they new there was a demand(aka Sales) out there. So, in leu of that, I would like to post a poll.

I just chatted with Curtis yesterday, and doesn't seem to have any plans for this. He did try and help me to get it working, but nothing worked. He said that Oculus does not support Overlays in their API(or something like that). And he wasn't too excited about having to setup his Rift and non-Steam DCS to work on this. I think he would be more motivated if he know he knew there was a demand(sales) for it. I wonder how many DCS VR users(non-steam) would be interested in it?

I have an Oculus Rift, and I just tried out OVR Toolkit and HelloV. OVR Toolkit works great but not in DCS(non-steam version). The Developer said I should try running DCS in Win7 mode, but it won't run in Win7. So I couldn't get it to work. I then tried HelloV. I had it working about a year ago. But couldn't get it to display a .png or .jpg. I tried it again today and it won't display the Circle(main menu button) at all when I tap my head. RedKite has a video of using it, but I couldn't get it to work. Does anyone have any other tools or suggestions? I loved OVR Toolkit because you can make the windows to be invisible until you lean closer to them, then they appear. That was very handy!!

If you install mods in the main folder with jsgme or Ovgme, you should disable all the mods. If you don't, they will still think they have those mods install, and give you errors. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk

Is anybody updating? I see the patch notes have been posted 30 minutes ago, but when I do an update it says I am up to date with 2.5.5.35461.

Guide - Enhancing head movement on TrackIR

I just tested VR and my head is fine in the cockpit. I can move my head outside the cockpit, so I don't think these 6DOF Limits have any effect in VR? -

I didn't test that. I'll try to remember to check it. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk -

Thanks, I just tried it and set x to 0.05,0.05 and it worked. I must have been deleting a } or something before. Your settings work good for me. Thanks!! -

I'm adjusting the Hornet. I want to not move my head so far back, and also adjust the forward a bit as well. Here's my settings in the Server.lua. The CameraViewAngleLimits zoom works fine. But changes to the x in limits_6DOF don't seem to have any effect. ViewSettings["FA-18C_hornet"] = { Cockpit = { [1] = {-- player slot 1 CameraViewAngleLimits = {40.000000,90.000000}, CockpitLocalPoint = {3.533,1.156,0.0}, CameraAngleRestriction = {false,90.000000,0.500000}, CameraAngleLimits = {200,-90.000000,90.000000}, EyePoint = {0.05000,0.100000,0.000000}, ShoulderSize = 0.25, Allow360rotation = false, limits_6DOF = {x = {-0.08,0.40},y ={-0.3,0.065},z = {-0.18,0.18},roll = 90.000000}, }, }, -- Cockpit Chase = { LocalPoint = {-5.0,1.0,3.0}, AnglesDefault = {0.000000,0.000000}, }, -- Chase Arcade = { LocalPoint = {-21.500000,5.618000,0.000000}, AnglesDefault = {0.000000,-8.000000}, }, -- Arcade } -

I've adjust the CameraViewAngleLimits (Zoom) and the limits_6DOF (x value only). The zoom change works fine. But my changes to the x value seem to have no effect. -

Hello? Is anybody from ED reading Bug reports? -
Yes, I posted over 3 months ago and also about 3 weeks ago. No, it's still not working, and it seems ED doesn't care, as several threads have gotten NO response. A simple acknowledgment that it's on the list to be fixed would be nice... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=243607 https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=249019

Is that 'Linked' attribute used(and available) for user ac? Like when you link a static obj to the carrier? Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk -
As Newy said, it sounds like the game window loses focus. Try closing other apps, especially those in the systray. Sent from my Moto Z Play using Tapatalk
