  1. This! Standard bases will probably become a thing of the past. If one can't afford one now, get an ordinary one second hand. Save up money for FFB and sell that other base. Careful with curves. Will teach you bad habits, its better to prioritise an extension. I've never used curves, and it tought me finesse.
  2. The AI in DCS has it's shortcomings regarding situational awareness. You can hide until it has seen you. After that you can have a hard time hiding again. Practice on the Caucasus tank misson. There it's really easy to test the AI. If it has noticed you, it will try to shoot you behind buildings even if only your Viviane is visible. Depends. I have a secondary screen I export the Viviane to, and the instruments via Helios/Icarus. I also have an old dedicated TM16K joystick I control the Viviane and the "weapons stick", (weapon officer left stick), with. Which I use to track/zoom/lase/shoot. A great feature in the Gazell. Grab a second hand one if you don't want to spend. Cheers!
  3. @Czech6 #1 Also encompasses "instant trim", which also works fine for spring bases, and I personally find much easer than #2 which I could never wrap my head around. One only have to centre the stick very quickly. #3 Has always been confusingly worded. I assume it got lost in translation. Should really be "Without springs nor FFB". Cheers! 4. Funny? Tiresome is more like it.
  5. Yeah, but this is where you "get it wrong". The doctrine went away from hovering and shooting, (sitting duck), to fly and shoot which is much easier in single player. Very easy in fact if you practice a little. Cheers!
  6. Pretty sure we'll see some great updates now the SA map had a huge one with much improvement, and the main focus can be on Kola.
  7. You should probably post this in the F-16 forum, and be more specific about what you don't understand. Have you read about it in the manual? Might give you better clues on how it works and what you might ask about. [emoji1303] Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  8. Taz hasn't been around for more than a year. Hope he's okay. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  9. I second this. AFAIK the Herc doesn't have an installer, while the UH-60L 2.0 does, because so many users don't understand where to correctly put the mods. Quite revealing. Just drag and drop the the folders for the Herc and Blackhawk out of the mods\aircraft folder to somewhere else like C:\temp Every mod should be installed via mod managers, which will give you full control with a few clicks. Even with Saved Games Mods. If I had a dollar for ever time a user had forgotten about a conflicting mod... Cheers!
  10. Excellent news! [emoji1303] Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  11. Unless we get an FF A-10A that is. [emoji4] @Coldemps The price difference should've given you a hint. [emoji6] Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  12. Well, they posted today, about getting the F-1 and C-101 for free if you purchase a Pimax. So there's that. I'm a sucker for news and updates myself and but I've learned that in DCS we will get news when the news is ready. Stopped pulling my hair out a while back. 13. Looking good! Wish ED would do something about the robot like AI. Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  14. Hopefully they will, and flesh out the Cold War assets and modules even more. A Cold War assets pack is a really good idea. Defo only frags for us here Way up North. The fit certain political parties and activists, (with good reason), would have had if there had been nuclear warheads on Norwegian soil... Oh, Lord! Personally, I'm not sure. Maybe if people experienced the destruction in a simulator, granted it was simulated very detailed, one could see the destruction for one self.
  15. Gremlins! I highly doubt that this is a DCS issue. If it's actually happening, something in Windows triggers the start. Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  16. @RTS354 Sounds strange. You didn't answer my question though. [emoji6] Because I guess that's where the error is, if WHATEVER_BUTTON_OFF doesn't work. Should be no need for virtual buttons. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  17. Can't the options file be hacked so option 4 is available, just like Ultra Shadows? Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  18. Absolutely! Didn't even know they came with nukes. Our ones would never have been allowed to be deployed with any. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  19. My thoughts exactly! [emoji1303] Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  20. Yeah, you're really pulling your weight there buddy! No paper weights for sure! [emoji1] Excellent! [emoji1303] Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  21. @RTS354 You don't need T.A.R.G.E.T for this in DCS. I assume the TQS is made like the Warthog, with two position switches only wired for one of the positions, and three positions wired only for two positions. Hence sims can't detect the off positions without logic build in. I'm a little confused. Say you bind "gear up" to one of the switches, "button1" and then you have to bind the same switch to the off position "button1_off" for "gear down". You already tried this and it doesn't work? That's the issue? That's odd. Never experienced that. In other sims, if they don't provide the same "off" logic like DCS does, your just out of luck, or must use T.A.R.G.E.T. Cheers! 22. Thanks for the heads up! [emoji1303] Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  23. Neither. Helios does not "generate" the exports. Neither is WW or other software. The exports are pure from ED/DCS and are defined in the monitor.lua, in which you have to edit to have exports in VR. Helios, WW etc software can help you generate that file, but not for VR. That's why you need to manually edit it. Cheers!
  24. Doesn't exist. You must manually change the Snapviews.lua. I believe the view is 2-3° downward by default. Which is extremely irritating when one has a headtracker. Cheers! Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk
  25. Yeah, but that's not a bug. It's probably a relic from back in the days. My suggestion was just a workaround, failed to mention that. Better make a whish. I'll support it. I really hope the new ATC will eventually have relevant accents. It bothers me too, but silencing them all together won't work for me i find text much more distracting, so that's what I disable.
