  1. I think there's always more included in a patch than what's listed, but this one is indeed quite striking.
  2. Indeed: I flew a helicopter mission the other day with a friend. It was an interesting experience, but needless to say we decided to land asap and tweak the mission before proceeding further
  3. Indeed, I just wish it was an independent setting. I have mine set to "extreme" I believe. It would just be nice to see lights (including afterburners) at night further out without the massive performance hit from increasing everything else that is tied to the visibility range setting.
  4. And even that has less than half of the rendering distance required to be truly immersive.
  5. Indeed, which is why helmet visors are so important *hint*
  6. Indeed, I just found them. I need to take a shower now though, after visiting that place…
  7. You seem to get insider information when it comes to terrains in DCS: you called the Fulda map being made by Ugra months before the official announcement, and now this... Colour me intrigued!
  8. Shortly after launch (6-7 years ago?) we were told the textures and 3D model were basically place-holders (WIP). Since then nothing has changed. The community has stepped in but they can only do so much within the constraints of the current 3D model. I support this request: this should have priority over stuff like panels that can be opened, IMHO.
  9. Works just fine on my end...
  10. I don’t claim to know the minds of the design team, but if I were them it would be obviously to draw the phase 3 border exactly where it is in order NOT to have to include Antwerp and Brussels, because of the amount of work it would take to include them. I don’t mean just size but also the uniqueness and variety of buildings. You need to draw the line somewhere
  11. Das ist wirklich ausgezeignet, ja!
  12. Indeed, but most likely this is a prerequisite for the Dynamic Campaign. ED will need time to flesh it out so it can be ready when they are planning to release the DCE.
  13. Creativity shines when you have to do a lot with very little
  14. I've been flying helicopters in the Bagram - Kabul area without any issues. I also just finished an F-14 IA mission there and again didn't have any performance problems. There are a few modules (the Mirage F1 and OH-58) which have been interfering with specific scripts apparently, but I have only seen that happen once with a mission file a user shared on the Mirage F1 subforum to highlight performance problems. I never had it with any of my missions or missions that are included in DCS.
  15. Right? I'd like to think the majority of the DCS users is at least in their 40s, but the forum likely isn't representative of the average DCS user. To be fair, tensions are high in society in general (I don't mean politically but that is included - I mean as a living human being these days) so likely that will bleed through to some extent to forums, but that obviously doesn't excuse regrettable behaviour that's often on display here. Nice post btw
  16. Indeed. On my end it takes around 10 seconds for the full textures to load in after exiting the F10 map.
  17. There have been reports (believe them or don't) about the Typhoon ECM rendering the AMRAAM useless.
  18. Absolutely. I still can’t tell the difference between the old eternal model and the new, even when looking at side-by-side comparisons. But the cockpit model being the same old model with a “fresh coat of paint” is very obvious. And as the thread you linked correctly identified: the main problem with the remastered release was all the lying and gaslighting that ED did.
  19. And the funny thing is that it’s still an abbreviation: the full word is Sitzhöhenverstellungmechanismus
  20. For those who don’t understand German: it basically states “operate the seat height adjustment for maximum 30 sec every 10 minutes”.
  21. I didn’t, which was the point of my post
  22. I'm looking forward to reading this week's newsletter, and the upcoming "2025 roadmap" newsletter too!
