    Yeah as Silver said, Spain retired the Matra R.530 in 1987. These missiles were bought in 1970 for the Mirage IIIEE fleet. Super530F were never Introduced in Spanish service. Same with Magic R.550. But it will be nice to have a the Super530F. Sent from my Moto G (5S) using Tapatalk

    The phoenix doesnt go Pitbull at 16 seconds to impact. Its a rule of thumb. It depends of distance in fact. So if the contact is maneuvering changing his aspec, it can happen that the missile is never close enough to go active. Sent from my Moto G (5S) using Tapatalk

    Better punch, better damage resistance and the big radial engine with 2000 bhp is marvellous. It is harder to fly ( more fun) than the P-51( boooring!) Don't forget the cool factor too.     Estas en lo cierto, un misil semiactivo (SARH) deberia perderse salvo como dices si se guia por tus emisiones (modo HOJ, Home on Jam). Tendrias que hacer la prueba de derribar al F-15, apagar tu radar y ECM y maniobrar a ver que ocurre para salir de dudas.
