    Members age?

    Happy b-day ! 70 here , flightsimmer for 30 yrs
  2. I like the CH pedals as compared to anything short of MFG Crosswinds , which are 3x the price . They use a tracked roller so not the smoothest , but they're dead reliable and last forever . Pre-Covid they were about $140 .
  3. Actually , no :) See post #6 .
  4. Looks like it's a common problem . https://www.google.com/search?client=tablet-android-samsung&ei=V-mAX_SWIsGusAXDtIf4Ag&q=corsair+software+not+detecting+aio&oq=corsair+software+not+detecting+aio&gs_lcp=ChNtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1zZXJwEAM6BAgAEEc6BwgAELEDEEM6AggAOgoIABCxAxDJAxBDOgQIABBDOggIABCxAxCDAToFCAAQsQM6CwgAELEDEIMBEMkDOggIABCxAxDJAzoFCAAQyQM6BggAEBYQHjoFCCEQoAE6BQghEKsCOggIIRAWEB0QHlC-Rljo0wJggdQCaAJwAXgAgAHAAYgB4COSAQQzLjM0mAEAoAEByAEIwAEB&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-serp
  5. Might wanna reconsider.... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=249868
  6. Not sure what you mean by "upfront" . Here , that means "open" . Facebook is certainly not upfront by that definition . They have repeatedly been busted for doing something they shouldn't , claiming they had "fixed" the problem , only to be busted 3-6 months later for again doing the exact same thing . This horse as largely left the barn . These sites have to pay for the services they offer somehow , and as consumers , we prefer the advertising/data-collection model to that of subscriptions . Still , i find Facebook to be uniquely creepy .
  7. While it is true that many companies do harvest data , and some should , since that's how they provide an otherwise "free" service , there is much that is uniquely creepy about Facebook , and i want nothing to do with it .

  11. I use a tablet for forums . No search capability . If i can get to my pc later , will have a look .
  12. There's a few threads here and in the input/output section , consensus is not good .

  14. Yeah , pc's are so much easier to build and commission now than they were . The hardest part is specifying the components... And yes , budget and monitor resolution info are pretty much required to provide the OP intelligent help .
  15. The Hornet , like many other fbw aircraft , has two trim modes . Gear up , the fbw system tries to automatically hold 1g , and pilot trim inputs adjust to either side of 1 g . The reason this mode is "slow" is because trimming g results in pitch continuing to change even after releasing the trim button . The "faster" mode is a normal pitch trim used primarily to set the landing aoa , and takeoff trim .
  16. https://www.tweaktown.com/news/75468/foveated-rendering-gives-reverb-omnicept-39-performance-uplift/amp.html Tobi claims 39% VR performance improvement . (Omnicept)
  17. Gamer's Nexus (or possibly Jayz ) was surprised to find that the CPU ran COOLER with a FE and an air cooler as compared to a triple-fan card . Much of the card heat on the FE is directed out of the back of the card , as opposed to the triple fan dumping all the heat in the case .
  18. No problem . I did the same on a new build .
  19. My impression is that all those extra sensors are for developers , not simmers or gamers . Heart-rate and eye-tracking would provide valuable feedback from testers for tracking attention to tutorials or presentations , and in terms of game dynamics . Foveated rendering potential ? Sure , but the Omnicept will be dust before ED implements it .
  20. Welcome to the forum ! Hardware permitting , you should be able to overclock that cpu for ~20% more performance . The 1060 , however , is inadequate for VR altogether in DCS . It's fine for low-res or limited-view vr games , but DCS is another kettle of fish . Overclock the cpu if your motherboard permits , get a better cooler if necessary , and upgrade your gpu and your system will be adequate for years . Another 16gb ram wouldn't hurt either .
  21. No . Track files have been borked forever . Nor are they likely to ever be fixed due to how they work . If you have the horsepower , better to record the video .

    PSVR

PSVR is not officially supported on pc . There is a third-party app called Trinus that is supposed to enable pc/psvr , results haven't generally been great from what i've read . And DCS is another kettle of fish altogether . In short , not a good candidate for testing vr in DCS .
  23. How about this one ? https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3305623/
  24. Looks like a lot of room for tweaking in DCS settings . (1) at 1080p , try textures to "low" . Betcha you won't be able to tell the difference -especially terrain . (2) heat blur to "off" (3) trees should be 70% or less - just enough to avoid "popup" effect . Remember , every tree draws a shadow ! (4) terrain shadows "flat" & lower cockpit to "low" or "medium" (5) chimney smoke to "1" Particle effects are also resource intensive . I would also lose "cockpit global illumination" and "lens effects" and max the preload radius . Once you have everything running smoothly , you should be enabled to return all Nvidea settings to default (except "high performance") and run 1.5 SSAA and 2xMSAA in DCS settings . You will get a lot of conflicting advice regarding specific settings , but the general idea is to start low and gradually increment the settings most important to you .
  25. MRTV made some interesting points about the Quest 2 . He noted that there are many disadvantages compared to the Quest 1 , and how cheaply the 1 is selling used now with the impending release of the 2 .
