I’m not sure since my laptop was already setup for a warthog hotas but when I plugged it in it did say that the tm cougar was installed but it didn’t show up in target foxy’s next version. I’m still trying to get my cougar properly configured if you get yours done please save the dcs profile and let me have a copy I’m not sure how to do the knobs or wheels buttons and switches are no problem but the other are.

With the tm grips if you run different profile thru target I believe you would need to reload the profile thru target for each grip but if your using the default tm profile for all three grips then I’m thinking that the only profiles are those mapped to the module so you should have a problem. My problem is that the throttles are what I need to swap so I have to swap out the complete hotas system since the cougar throttle plugs into the stick base using a serial connection. Otherwise I would plug both throttles in to the hub and use the warthawg stick since I believe it has a better gimbal setup.

Has anyone figured out the best way to get switches buttons and knobs to work with a vr hmd (head mounted display) to work hand in hand? Is it to build a switch panels to mimic the one in the dcs air craft or use a virtual way to manipulate them? I have tried captogloves but they didn’t like my laptop wouldn’t sync in the setup app. I’m getting ready to try point Ctrl once I did out my Velcro and zip ties and mount it but first need to get my new rift s working with dcs just tried once and put it all away.

NVG was a spell check substitute. What I was asking was how do I get rift s and dcs to play nice

Miles no I emptied the whole box just had the invoice which reminded me of the additional purchases, the case, cables, two fmcs, one hms that was it. I have Velcro and cable ties but the additional items I paid for are a concern.

You can get a decent graphics card for that.

We all want it it would make training more realistic if you have an ip instructor pilot teaching a sp student pilot plus make managing the tasks in flight better more realistic.

Well if we don’t use it and provide feedback then I don’t see them applying most attention to it. I really would love native voip not that I heave probleswith srs but not having to run a separate app would be nice. I for start dcs jumping in the ac turn the power on tune the radio and your ready to go Imo I would like to see all existing modules completed before new ones are worked on but that’s not going to happen because there would be no funds coming in to pay the team. Iirc dcs world is free or was when I got into it it’s the extra stuff that costs. I would like to see multicrew working in the aircraft where it was promised like the huey and hornet. It would be nice if all multi position aircraft would get it but I’m not expecting that to happen. As I can think of right now there a handful of mods that haven’t been released as completed the harrier, viper, hornet are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. I realize that the viper has system that are in the hornet or harrier or that are very similar and those are the systems.that are holding back the release version of the mods. I also relive that different people want different stuff some want the carrier based stuff released other want more wwii stuff and others want combined arms items while others want more res real estateto fly over and finally those wanting the multi position of aircraft working. There’s my rant.

Carrier strike group is an esquadron that fly multi us naval aircraft or did about a year ago when I was with them. They will fly at least one traing flight a week usually they also take the fac pliots along on multiple squadron missions and most mission check out pilots are able to fly their squadron missions they do both carrier and land based training. As to when to dip your toe in multiplayer flying. I recommend when you understand how to fly the airframe you planning on flying primarily and are to fly the sp missions and do a somewhat good job flying and completing those missions I made the mistake of approaching them to learn basic flight In a huey when I wasn’t able to hover and I was to a beginner for this group and wasn’t able to participate in a positive way. So they ask me to learn before returning in not so many words plus I had a goal for something else in dcs that they thought was a distraction. My plan for returning it to learn the f-16 bit by bit as it is upgraded before returning to a squadron maybe if practical master the huey also. There are servers where some traing is going on and free flight or school yard type groups are formed to either complete a mission against ai forces or I pvp missions I’ve never done those my self. Another thing for me flying most require discord and srs stand-alone radio system or services at a minimum for communications disord for briefings if not mission comms but some use srs that enables your in aircraft rations to do voip when tune to the correct freq. some units require maps other than the default Caucasus map and unit or mission specific mods so you see everything your supposed to see. They also have unit skins so your are recognizable plus the mission target or Landmark maybe unit specific.

One think I woul like to see add is the proper timing of the atc calls like deforestation engine start after power and radios are setup to request clearance for engine start the before taxing unless in group formation to contact atc for taxi clearance and in applicable taxi directions the when you cross runways or redlines ask for clearance before proceeding. Then a not once your holding short or is it at the runway before run up switch to the tower freq and contact them it’s been a while and I wasn’t an expert then but I think you understand what I’m requesting. And do do these comms during your video tutorials also. It’s monkey see monkey do most don’t get in to strict atc comms until they get in to multiplayer flying and it new to them. Some may look and see if it’s in the f10 menu in single player but only when they need something. I’m a believer in train the way you fight that way it’s a reflex and nor an question of when and or if I should proceed without clearance and since dcs doesn’t follow if we use atc or. Not yet most like I did just get in start up taxi take off and fly only asking awacs for bandit location if they don’t stumble on them.

Help with rift s I had the commercial version of rift before but bought the rift s for two reasons the first better display and second the built in sensors. With the rift I just open dcs and it went straight into vr mode. With rift s I opened dcs no vr, tried opening rift s desktop or what ever the default program is and no menu no dcs no previous vr apps from rift . 1) how to get dcs I NVG with rift s? 2) how to get my rift apps in rift s?

I new to using tm profiles. I haven ’t.a.r.g.e.t. And saved and iirc ran the profile before I plugged in my cougar. Then I started target but it didn’t recognize the hotas or show the profile. Can someone help me get the profile loaded in the cougar so the horas emulates the rl hotas in the f-16?

I’m new to this hotas bought it used and tried to set it up today. I first started target but it didn’t show up in it. Next I started dcs and the stick and throttle work fine there I go into f-16 and the throttle doesn’t work until the sim throttle is moved to the 20% mark then it works. But the buttons were not configured neither did the ant elv wheel work. Ok guys why didn’t target recognize the cougar? I downloaded the cougar f16 profile from dcs link how do I load it so I don’t have to manually configure each switch and button there are way to many do I load it thru target or directly into the dcs through the config profiles?

Well I load up the training mission it gives me the sill and tells me the lt win+home quick start key combo and then goes on and states hit the spacebar to continue, I do and nothing happens I hit it several more time hit enter no joy. I try the quick start combo and it starts running the macro. It would be nice if the missions would work iirc I have had the same problem in the past I went in and redid that one so I could get by that step but it sad that things don’t work when it comes out if they are using the ascii code of 20 to check for it should work. I have a Acer Predator laptop the spacebar on it didn’t work I tried adding an high price gaming keyboard and it still didn’t work. I’m not sure f the code for Russian keyboard and a us keyboard and that’s the trouble. Or am I not waiting long enough after the speaker stops talking and the release to check for the spacebar Anyone else having this problem or am I alone. I’m trying to learn this module as the videos and systems come online.

Nice start I would mount every thing to a low platform Incase it’s got to be moved and that way everything stays in the same spot. My pit is on a platform to make it easier for me to get in and especially out. Look how I think it was skip did his motion huey setup with vr. Me I’m going with the point controller finger mods . I’m awaiting a couple things before I actually get back in my pit and other things before I use the ctrlpointer out of the pit with my new rift s vr system I have even connected it up to my laptop that I’ve been using in the past.
