  1. So it seems the Normandy 2 map will add another map to our server installs we need to have now along with the others that are in the pipeline.
  2. We wont have a choice the dedicated server downloads every map.
  3. We run 2 servers who uses both The Channel and Normandy for MP missions will I also have Normandy 2 as well or will it replace Normandy ??

Can anyone explain why the DCS Discord bots are out of control, they seem to spam msgs every 2, 3 4, msg on every channel, to the point im starting to not frequent the ED Discord as much which is shame as I enjoy the chat from the Apache SMEs and the stuff they tell us about the Apache. ED any chance you can sort this out it really is stopping a great Discord experince.
  6. Wouldn't you have had to have a second account for this to work and then have to of purchased the Syria map for that account, I can see the work around working if you just hosted Cacucus only. That's would mean with the free installed game you are now better off going the full client way and running the dedicated server from that install so its a much small footprint, but that defeats the point of having a dedicated server install, it would really help if we could get a comment from ED if this is being worked on @BIGNEWY any news on this ?? Im currently planning our server usage for next year and trying to figure out if we keep two servers or go to one to cut the cost back a little.
  7. I agree with you Tbone, In the missions I have created for our guys I purposely have put man-pads in our missions to keep the Apaches low and in cover so they have to sneak about as it should be.

  10. In real world environments I would guess the ground troops would be in touch with the air support via their commanders, in DCS we have no such luck with any AI on the ground in communication with the support the mission maker has put in, if in doubt don't fire until they fire at you

Great write up on your experiences and passing that information on here, unfortunately I really dont think it matter in DCS single player or PVE servers as the Ai are pretty lack luster against the AH64 and KA50 as we can sit 8kms from them so you can be at 500, 700 or 1000 feet and still be relatively safe against most of the ground AI in the game, this is based on missions we have flow on our servers, if its a PVP server though yes your advice is great to have and I stay as low as possible.
  12. Yep us too so we dumped DCS voice because of this after trailing it as its feature incomplete and feels like its abandoned by the developer with no updates in a year.
  13. With 3 new maps coming out in the next say 2 years we will need an additional lets say 100 gig of server space I'm thinking. If this feature is not implemented next year at least our team has already discussed removing 1 of the 2 servers we run for our group or even canning the servers all together due to the increased disk space cost to us from our provider. It would be rather helpful if ED could at least give us some comms on this and if its being implemented or not, I mean they would know at least by now if they are doing it or not.
  14. Sini map looks good and well advanced, it the only new map im buying as it fits in with the Syria map and I love that map. Wingwing Orion 2 news was old news, ha ha had mine with the damper mod for 6 weeks now. No news on Multicore, Vulcan, ATC, weather (moving clouds and rain) core updates, Ai updates. Its seems to me this has been a slow year so far for DCS with improvements to the game, apart from the AI BFM updates, we only have 3 more patches to go before years end.
  15. Hi YoYo, can you tell where to alter the VR views, which part of the lua alters the view, I I use your Mossie one, id like to try this with the Apache CPG and move his incorrect VR view to the right as ED only seem to correct the fwd or back position so far.
  16. I moved to a Winwing Orion 2 setup, with NC-1 cams and the damper mod the bounce has gone completely, the mossie flies great now.
  17. I'm in VR as I have said many times in this post but thanks for the information again. I wish your suggestion would work for VR as it would make life easy, in another sim I play that I cant mention here, you can adjust the view in 2D for all the WW2 cockpits to position your head where you want it and hit F10 to save it and it translates to VR head position also which is awesome and very much the same as you mention. In DCS for VR we have to rely on the developer to fix it the correct position for us unfortunately, so we will have to wait for ED to implement the correct head position for the VR view or change some code and allow us to do what you have mentioned then save to the VR view also, this would actually be the best way.

AT this stage in the Apaches development you will have to center the view your self to the seat center every time with the snap views (doesn't work in VR) All we can hope for is that the developers give us the correct centered view for the CPG (2D and VR) and then let us either adjust to center on the TEDAC or not, I honestly cant see why this would be an issue as all we are asking for is a correct view from the seat like the pilot has, and from what I understand is a .lua file adjustment (I could be wrong)

Whilst the moving of AI ground targets is up to the mission designer for sure, its the reaction to the threat from us once we attack them, that would be up to the attacked AI as a mission designer can only script in so much, in all cases the Ai just stops of moves another 10 foot and then stops wanting to be hit again and in fact doesn't move after that, this is very apparent in the helicopters we are flying now where it just becomes a turkey shoot as the AI reaction to being fired on is very simple logic.

Also in VR me and my Apache buddies are still having to use the cockpit camera controls to move of head to the R to the center of the seat as we are sitting a little on the LH arm rest with the default VR view which is annoying but has been pointed out also. But at least George looks better from the back view now in regards to his head, I just cant see why they didnt move him right also at the same time
  22. Yes it fwd now and his head isn't in the seat anymore, but he is still sitting left of center which does not mirror what his position from the outside camera shows so its 50% fixed
  23. This is also needs a voice filter like SRS uses, it too hard to use when using Discord also, you cant tell where the voice chat has originated from, please dont say this should replace Discord, Discord is the meeting room, in plane coms is different.

This voice chat still broken tested it today with 3 players to see if we should switch from SRS. 2 can bring up the Voice coms window, 3rd player cant bring up the window with the default keys or binding any other key too it, it just doesn't show up. Update So 2 of us had it working using the F16 266mhz, both could use PTT fine (turns red), i jump into the COG menu to change the volume slider as the voice was loud, PTT stopped working, this seems very random, yesterday it worked fine, today its broken again.
