  1. The Mig-27K Flogger-J2 or even the somewhat simpler Mig-27M would be a sick Redfor aircraft to get.
  2. This is a big reason why I wish there was more competition in the combat flight simulator genre currently. There is certainly enough open-source data and even ways to physically access a more modern RU aircraft in the West to produce a simulator for it.
  3. Looking at images of both the Hornet and the Falcon with their radar dishes on display, they don't look much different in size aside from the obvious shape difference of the APG-68. Just curious on what gives the APG-73 its superior detection range.
  4. I would expect the Heatblur rendition of the HGU-68 will be more detailed than the current ED version in the Hornet and F-16.
  5. Would have preferred ED had held off on the F-16 altogether until the Hornet was in a near finalized state. But what's done is done. I'm just looking forward to fixes to the core of the sim itself as well as to the F/A-18.
  6. The Tornado GR4 ofcourse.
  7. Thanks for clarifying. Also, I didn't know they were using the HGU-68 by the late 90s but yeah, they do look identical to the 55/Ps.
  8. Are there any plans of creating a pilot/RIO design with the HGU-55/P helmet and gray mask as an option? I can understand keeping the HGU-33 for the F-14A. The newer design would conform more with the year the F-14B is spec'd for.
  9. How will that work in MP. I'm assuming/hoping you'll be able to command Jester to search a particular heading and range and what type of targets?
  10. The Hornet is in a much more complete state than the F-16. Has more goodies available and whatnot. If that's important to you, then there is your answer. I pre-ordered the F-16 and I'll admit it's the only module that I have any buyers remorse over. I imagine my feelings towards it will change when it is finally or very near complete but I don't see that happening for a long while. I'm still crossing my fingers the F/A-18 will be finished by years end.
  11. Can understand the sentiment above. It's a big reason I didn't prepurchase the supercarrier. I'd rather wait till an ED module is more feature complete and bug free before buying again from them.
  12. I decided to finally grab the Tomcat. Used what ED Miles I had accumulated to increase the discount. Now my 4th gen US library is complete with the F-14, F-15, F-16 and F/A-18. I thought about the SuperCarrier but I'll wait until it's more feature complete.
  13. Will the HB sale also end once the Free Trial finishes or is that going with the Summer Sale?
  14. ^This. Also for the F-14. Will Jester be able to use the LANTIRN pod and drop LGBs at some point in development?
  15. The Super Hornet, even if it's AI, has been a long time coming and will match up well with the current ED F/A-18C on the carrier decks.
  16. The Fakour-90's capabilities are still pretty unknown and I'm skeptical of any claims coming out of Tehran. Looking at it, it appears pretty draggy to me with those robust fins.
  17. Second this question.
  18. He made some valid points, particularly about the lack of competition. Since 2.5.6, it's felt like each update one big step forward is made followed by a few steps back with things becoming broken. The Hornet's radar still being a mess for example.
  19. Curious to see what additions the SLAM-ER will bring with guidance precision when it's finally added.
  20. I hope the SLAM has a correct damage model seeing as how the Harpoon still needs to be corrected.
  21. Was the DFCS a hybrid system or a true FBW for the Tomcat?
  22. This has been a point of confusion aswell as I've been led to understand one of the advantages of the F404 was its quick responsiveness.
  23. Wouldn't the Su-17 be more appropriate as the 20/22 were export versions?
  24. Doesn't the F-14D use a DFCS where Iranian F-14As use the original analog system? I don't think Iran has the capability to reverse engineer such a complex system from documents alone. Just as they can't reproduce the AIM-54 from open-source data.
  25. I would find it nice one day to see all three versions of the Tomcat in DCS and to have the chance to experience the most capable version of the big cat.
