The AGM-84E SLAM is really just a Harpoon with the optical sensor taken from the old Walleye, GPS plus the warhead from the Tomahawk. It's a weird frankenstein build of different Cold War era technologies that became operational at the tail end of it all (1990). As you put it, the JSOW is a completely new weapon developed in the 90s.

So the APG-68(V5) has DBS but lacks SAR which the V9 received. Is DBS the only feature the A/G radar has over the APG-73?

Very curious about this as well as when the Harpoon will inflict the proper amount of damage on a ship. I'd imagine the flight profiles will be expanded though once SEA mode is complete on the A/G radar.

TMS Up in TWS does not work at all for me. Seems to be a major problem in MP servers as I have less of a problem locking up aircraft offline. Not sure if this is due to jamming from other aircraft as I did observe radar contacts jumping positions.

Two questions: Did the AIM-54C ever get both the Mk.47 and Mk.60 rocket motors or did it just receive the smokeless Mk.47? Will the improved AIM-54C ECCM (AIM-54C+) be developed at some point for the Tomcat?

I'm assuming other than range, the SLAM-ER will offer more hands off approach with greater accuracy than the SLAM.

I hope these issues get ironed out in the next update.

That's the one factor I didn't think of. I mostly cruise at those speeds. I had the Tomcat actually super cruising the other day doing Mach 1.1 and the the vibrating was definitely there. I've been too used to the smooth ride the Hornet provides.

Hoping with the addition of a pre-order discount, the cost comes down to around $15.

I'm sure it's been brought up before so my apologies. I notice even in smooth level flight, the cockpit shacks and rattles continuously regardless of what conditions you're flying in as well as when flying in a clean configuration. Is this really accurate to the flight experience according to previous Tomcat crews?

Reading more here on the differences between the Hornet and F-16 FCRs, I have to admit it would have been sweet to have gotten a version of the F-16 using the newer V9 radar. More range plus the SAR component.

I've had moments where the radar simply doesn't detect much of anything infront of me when I was pointed in the right direction by an AWACS or it doesn't discern the contacts as hostile. Just neutral.

Yeah. The AIM-7 is pretty bad. I haven't tried the ED Sparrow yet to see if there is any difference.

The ST21 was a proposed concept so that will never happen.

I'd appreciate the F-14D since it would align with the same period of time the ED Hornet is spec'd to. Ofcourse so would the F-14B(U). The APG-71 alone would be the selling point for the D model for me.

Will the Super Hornet AI also have an aerial refueling capability that other aircraft can use?

I believe it would violate changes the Russian government has implemented with regards to the release of potentially sensitive military information. Something ED can't do being a Russian-based company. At this point, I'd be happy with some additional aircraft to FC3 or MAC (when that comes out).

I'd like to see the MUMI page become a thing and the Harpoon actually have a realistic damage model.

While I've not been in the RIO seat since the patch. I did notice Jester having a much harder time obtaining and holding a lock since the update.

When did they start implementing the hardware improvements to the F-14A and B models (TID, Sparrowhawk, etc)? I'm assuming around in the 1999-2003 timeframe.
