  1. I've honestly had no problem hitting targets with JDAMs since the patch. Using LGBs has been another story as the laser code doesn't seem to input.
  2. Yeah, the Hornet radar is still a WIP. It's why I take the F-15 out for CAP missions.
  3. If the A-6F had become a thing, it would have been capable of carrying AMRAAMs.
  4. Voted for the A-6 Intruder since that seems like the obvious choice. I'm still hopeful to see HB develop the F-14D eventually.
  5. So, no updates for Hornet or Viper until the 2.5.6 patch is released?
  6. Wikipedia being out of date is no surprise. "The AIM-120D (P3I Phase 4, formerly known as AIM-120C-8) is a development of the AIM-120C with a two-way data link, more accurate navigation using a GPS-enhanced IMU, an expanded no-escape envelope, and improved HOBS (high off-boresight) capability. The AIM-120D max speed is Mach 4[7] and AIM-120D is a joint USAF/USN project, and is currently in the testing phase. The USN was scheduled to field it from 2014, and AIM-120D will be carried by all Pacific carrier groups by 2020, although the 2013 sequestration cuts could push back this later date to 2022."
  7. Is the OB update for this week still on track?
  8. Based on what I've read, the sequestration pushed adoption of the AMRAAM-D back, especially with the US Navy to 2022. I thought AF was taking it this year.
  9. The AIM-120D is only this year just entering service I believe so yeah, a pipe dream.
  10. As was pointed out, the earlier generation Mig-21s (F-13, PF) were lighter and alittle more agile than the bis. I expect the F-8J and Mig-21bis to be on pretty equal footing to one another. Although I'm looking forward to some of the Crusader's more unique features. I think much of the "ultimate dogfighter" talk was a result of the shift towards a dependence on missiles being toted by F-4 Phantoms, and that the Crusader was the only day fighter built with gun fighting in mind still in service in that period.
  11. I recall the AIM-7P improvements were also focused on better performance at low altitude. What that translate to, I don't know.

    A7 Corsair

    Yes. Personally, I'd like to see a mid-late 80s spec A-7D and E module.
  13. Tragic. Sounds like gross incompetence from both the SA-15 operator and the Iranian government for not closing down the airspace for the time being when they knew their air defense systems would be on alert.
  14. Pretty much trying to achieve a radar lock on anything is a nightmare at the moment. Hopefully it gets sorted out soon.
  15. There is also an A-7D module already in the works. This Su-24M mod does have my attention.:)
  16. As someone stated. The Hornet laid the groundwork for the F-16 development so I wouldn't be surprised if both get finished by end of 2020. The F-16 development has the added benefit of not using complex systems like the Harpoon and SLAM/SLAM-ER.
  17. +1 for the MUMI page.
  18. I'd be happy if we get an update on the state of the new FLIR render that will be used. If the A-G radar is further along in development than ATFLIR, than finishing that system first is fine.
  19. Hopefully the Litening II gets HUD indications soon along with the Harpoon getting the proper damage model. I noticed the AIM-7P is on the list but it's definitely not complete. The next big system in the pipeline I hope we see come to fruition is the ATFLIR pod.
  20. Looking forward to seeing both the A-7D and Navalized E model Corsair in DCS someday.
  21. It would be sweet just to have all versions of the Tomcat. Paves the way for alot of different missions and time period scenarios. Hopefully HB eventually gets the okay to attain the technical data needed to build an F-14D.
  22. A Block I Super Hornet would be nice due to all the advantages in internal fuel and carry capacity the larger airframe brings over the Legacy Hornet. Granted, I'd still rather see the F-14D Super Tomcat become reality in DCS before the Rhino.
  23. This was one of those things I've been wondering about since I couldn't figure out how to select the Sidewinder. If I was A2A mode, it always defaults to the AIM-120. Successfully locking targets for BVR shots has been a whole other can of worms I've run into in the 16 so far.
  24. Is the AIM-7P still in the pipeline?
  25. I'm curious if ED has decided to shelve ATFLIR until after they've got the basic A-G radar implemented.
