  1. I had to create a new folder and name it SpitfireLFMkIX
  2. noun praise and honour received for an achievement. "she was looking for kudos rather than profit" synonyms: prestige, cachet, glory, honour, status, standing, distinction, prestigiousness, fame, celebrity, reputation, repute, renown, notability; More NORTH AMERICAN informal compliments or congratulations. plural noun: kudos "kudos to everyone who put the event together"
  3. A tip that may be useful for you is to have spawnable units that are activated when the first group dies or is reduced in number to less than 10% as an example I have added a .MIz file for you to look at if you want. It has a BTR group of 4 vehicles. If you kill 3 of them a MBT group of 4 T72's are activated and will move to the target area. Just put in an aircraft type of your choice to test it:) Also most missions I make are for the 229th to fly so MP, generally it is not the amount of units on the map that creates issues but static objects that are placed to make the FARP or base look alive and interesting. 4. Has anyone discovered the area size compared to the size of the NTTR map. I expect that the Normandy map will have a smaller modelled area than the Nevada map and the possibility to have higher visual quality for less resources because there are physically less objects to render. I may be completely wrong though:music_whistling:
  5. Very nice idea, is that a Black Mamba base with warthog grip?
  6. I just rewatched the GA Spitfire video, IMHO it gives a good indication of what the spit is actually like in game now that we have it. The Normandy map looks great and I am sure the Normandy promotion video will likewise give a good idea of what we will get on release in an enjoyable form, GA video's are of course essential viewing and always so well done. I am looking forward to whatever we get screenies and video. I am really looking forward to the live stream but maybe with it being after pre-purchase it will be easier to bare than waiting for NTTR was:P
  7. I just had a nice 20 minutes flying with this skin. Normally you have to go F2 to appreciate a skin but with the spit its just there when you look left and right. I love the black bars on the invasion stripes, really nice work and the wheel hubs are a real nice touch too:thumbup: Kudos it is a really great skin and great tribute to one of our heroes Thanks:)
  8. Its got nothing to do with magnetic declination and more to do with a flat map. It has always been the case that if your planning a route using the ruler tool then add 6 degrees to your figure. Any ADF signal should not be affected and you would only notice if like the opening picture shows, your measuring bearing and distance to compare to a transmitter. This is how I have been led to believe is the case
  9. I have done this in the Mi-8 and its great if you time it right, if you don't you just end up crashing sideways instead. But it definitely works in DCS and is a skill worth mastering;)
  10. Hey mate, it was more to emphasise the placement of pedals when lifting, the ball will move left or right until its balanced with the torque. Once ball is centred then that is another variable balanced. The turn indicator needle will still move in a hover but the movement is directly from cyclic inputs because the other factors are in balance. Hard to explain in writing, better to be sitting in the pit with someone one a server. Roll on multi crew:)
  11. Now thats cool :) Love the trucks especially
  12. Hi the amount of torque needed to acheive a 5 foot hover will change with added weight, temperature of outside air and humidity though this is not modelled in DCS. The thing I tried to get across but probably failed is once you have the power setting applied to give a 5 foot hover, irrespective of the torque gauge reading you can just keep your ball centred with rudder input and then concentrate on the cyclic to keep the chopper in place. Once the power is applied and the ball is centred you have no need to adjust pedal or collective, just keep the centre of gravity with your cyclic inputs. RE your location the 229th have various Companies but B Co is the european one so would suit your timezone if you wanted any help online
  13. Forget about where the collective is mate, that's irrelevant. You can really only achieve about 45% torque anyway before your engine RPM degrades and your low revs warning come on. It is in fact a measurement of Pounds per square inch (PSI) of oil pressure BTW jfri where are you based? If you want any help with the huey feel free to ask, we have a training slot every Thursday for an hour or two your welcome to come along see if we can help you improve :)
  14. MP bug, it got reported yonks ago but no fix AFAIK
  15. Let us know how you got on. I tried this before with limited success:cry:
  16. Check your torque gauge. For a huey with full fuel and 2x M60 doorgunners @20C your torque for a 5ft hover is about 32% The torque gauge is just to the right of your Radar Altimeter Once you get to the correct torque just leave the power setting and practice holding the chopper steady. The cyclic needs to be trimmed or held just back and slightly left for the correct attitude for hover. Don't be concerned about drifting you will learn to lessen that as you practice but if your cyclic is not at the correct position to start with it will be so much harder. Check Ramseys vid to see where his control indicator is positioned (Red Box top left)
  17. Mate send me a price for your old rig. It may offset your costs and you can deliver next time your up :)
  18. When you check the logs find out who shot my Mi-8 out of the sky? Still managed to get it on the ground:)
  19. Sounds good, I don't know where I will find 3 hours to fly SP but I will try. The link seems dead however:noexpression:
  20. 1940's Sunset strip, Frank Sinatra playing at Ceaser's Bob Hope and the Beverly sisters. Sounds like a plan:thumbup:
  21. Really nice email from ED, flash sale and new screenshots. Check your emails:) https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/screenshots/572/
  22. I have had to unplug my warthog throttle when I use my home made cyclic or else the rift headset disconnects. Agree it is pants. I also fear more modern mobo's with limited USB connectors on the I/O
  23. Cibit

    I'M Confused

The beta is generally patched before the stable version for any bugs to show themselves and the stable version gets the fixed patch generally the following week.
  24. Hey I am so glad this is resurrected. Great mission, now I can fly it with the rift:thumbup: Picked up troops out the water. 2 foot hover but its hard to judge movement without a fixed point. Great fun and thanks for fixing it
  25. Book me a chopper slot:)
