  1. Maybe try reducing terrain preload radius and see if it helps. Just a thought:)
  2. SSD's are getting to be a must with DCS these days, I am sure you will notice the difference. I have my OS on an Corsair 120Gb and my DCS instals on a 240Gb Sandisk. Load times are slashed compared to mechanical HDD. I think a 980 or 970 would be the better upgrade path unless the premium for a 1070/80 is not putting you off. Anything over a 6000 series GPU will be a huge benefit:)
  3. That looks excellent, what do you use for a sensor?
  4. Bump, certainly interested in the collective:)
  5. I don't use labels but I sometimes have to go f5 to spot where the bandits are:)
  6. Agreed next time I will just loose out on an activation save the time to do something else:doh:
  7. I run the rift with mine with quite high settings without difficulties and I believe your CPU is newer than mine you have more ram and same VRAM as 970. Get one ordered Pffft;) PS NTTR runs better at the moment than Caucasus
  8. First off I would try troubleshooting. Swap the HDMI leads so the rift is directly into the titan and use the DP for monitor, check drivers someone linked me to this and it was very useful for checking and updating all the little things that would otherwise be missed http://www.iobit.com/en/driver-booster.php its freeware BTW disable any shadows as a base to start tweaking system settings and start PD at 1.4 with your system it should give 45 - 90 FPS Are you using an SSD?
  9. Find out what your torque for a 5 foot hover is, (about 31% on a slick with doorgunners) Make sure your not descending above 500fpm and have enough torque set to cusion you as you enter IGE
  10. Your not having much luck at all. Hope the returns arrive soon:)
  11. I have always admired your work but this is top of the charts thanks so much:)
  12. Thats what my shopping list is looking like though only the MoBo CPU and RAM to replace my loved but ageing 920 and X58 chipset:) Can you explain the reasoning behind your choice of the Prime-A Let us know how it goes please
  13. When I first installed my rift on Christmas day I found it was pretty poor visually at first with settings to allow a decent fps then the software updated pretty much straight away and instantly I could ramp up the PD and other settings. I reckon if they keep producing updates it can only get better and better
  14. Monty a word of warning. Let your CPU settle down for a few days before ramping up the over clock, your thermal paste needs time to cure. Also 70 degrees seems a tad hot. there may also be micro bubbles in your WC loop that will eventually dissapate but will reduce the cooling a little.
  15. I just had a free flight around Nevada in SP. After an hour I landed on a roof, opened the pilots door and got out of my chair. That bit was cool standing at the edge of a tall building with my huey spooling down beside me. I then had the idea of putting it in autopilot and sitting on the sofa which put me in the cargo bay of the huey on the bench seats opened the doors and had a nice view of the scenery going by:)
  16. Hey Monty glad you like it :) Hope the build went well:thumbup:
  17. Bitmaster why are there less and less USB ports on the back IO these days? I am looking at the Z270 Prime and there are six USB slots of various types. I need more:doh:
  18. One other thing I found is having pre load to max helps with loading stutters where applicable and also full clutter has no fps impact over no clutter that I find. I also struggle to see the difference in terrain textures from low to high visually though I can see the FPS hit. This testing of mine is also directly related to 2.0. I find 1.5.5 a horse of a different colour:)
  19. What PD have you set within the game? Also try trading shadows for higher AA. Oh and Trigen what MOBO are you using
  20. I too am still adjusting settings, I dropped down to 1.3 PD in 2.0 and get 45 steady even flying over Vegas, it drops when the dust rises as I land though. I keep tweaking though and keep testing. I hope once I upgrade to a Kaby Lake I will get to ramp up more settings
  21. Take some pics of the build and how it goes. I am jealous and seriously considering selling one of my rifles to cover the upgrade costs for a rig like yours:doh:
  22. Pull the old migraine dodge and make sure your wife has a nice night out with friends, 4 hours will go by in a flash once you enter the matrix;)
  23. I always regard your advice on hardware highly so will start to research more up to date architecture thanks Bitmaster
  24. Keep checking this thread for Don B's impressions, I wonder if the postie's late:pilotfly:
