  1. Swiftwin is right, it's pretty obvious this Subs guy neither knows what he is talking about, nor is he willing to learn. Nothing can be gained by engaging in discussion.
  2. ILS is no prerequisite for bad weather or IFR landings. ILS and ILCS are two superficially similar, but ultimately also very different systems. And no USN or USMC Charlie Hornet, which is what is modelled in our game, carried ILS equipment. None. Thusly you are still wrong.
  3. Some Hornets have. USN and USMC dont. Which is what is modeled in the game. Which is why OUR Hornet doesnt. The end.
  4. I think so too. The resolution of the sensor certainly is a degree or two off, which adds to a lot of uncertainty over distance.
  5. It may very well be restricted by the mission, not your settings (which look alright)
  6. So, I was wondering: since MGRS / UTM is the gift that keeps on giving - anyone knows if the RL Jeff can handle MGRS / UTM coordinate entry, and if so, has there been any word on that by the Devs?
  7. That's not exactly explained in two sentences. You should head out and find some DCS skinning tutorials, acquaint yourself with Gimp or Photoshop and how to work DDS files etc.
  8. Not possible, those are only on the static F-18. Same with pilot unless ejecting.
  9. It's still a thing because no one so far managed to give hard black-on-white evidence to @BIGNEWY or @NineLine that TOO should work differently. Mind you: *I* certainly agree that the current implementation is wrong, but ED thinks otherwise, and unless someone comes up with evidence it will be marked "correct as is" and dismissed. So, in case you have evidence on how it should work correctly: share a track file and documentation with the team. Or maybe @Santi871 can talk to the team internally again, since he confirmed as well that the current implementation is wrong.
  10. That method does not work anymore, at the current state there is no possibility to do so without using mark points etc. - this has been discussed ad nauseam already in here, and it seems to be how it works IRL (at least no one had a definitive answer in the contrary, yet).
  11. I've seen people refuel flying with keyboard and mouse. I personally went from X56 to VKB. It's only a little bit easier, honestly.
  12. I know that thread, but given that it is 2 years old a lot may have changed, which is why I was just posting best guesses.
  13. I make of that: ED doesnt want to use the specific implementation that DIS set up for the Jeff. Which, IMO, is sensible as well, because having to use that through the special options is clunky. My personal guess is that ED is working on a comprehensive DTC API, useable for all current and future planes that use a DTC (or similar system), that will be more flexible to use from within the ME or the spawning interface / ground crew menu. If you take a look at Wags most recent CMDS Viper video he mentions "later, when we add the DTC" in it, so I am expecting it to be somewhat closer that we may think. Just my 0,02€.
  14. As we can see by this ongoing thread there is just a very large amount of uncertainty on how that works in detail. Dropping 2 or maybe even 4 JDAMs (and 4 is stretching it, IMHO) on actual targets of opportunity is very manageable between the range of JDAMs, usage of markpoints, quickl slewing and designating, what have you. Whenever I employed JDAMs in squad nights I never, ever had the need to ripple a large quantity. YMMV.
  15. I agree that it sounds sensible, until someone uncovers some proof it is kinda irrelevant, though. Add to that the fact that IRL probably no one would ripple a full Hornet's worth of JDAMs and I will just reiterate my personal opinion that this is, in fact, a non-issue. If said proof get's unearthed somehow then I wholeheartedly agree that it should be changed / fixed / added, of course.
  16. And, honestly: no one was able to supply proof that it should work otherwise. Given that "in real life" probably no Hornet on this planet would go airborne with 8 JDAMs to ripple them on 8 different TOOs in one pass, I *personally* would say that is nonsense anyway and only applies to weirdo-DCS-airquake. But again, the latter is my personal opionion.
  17. While it is indeed not possible: the offset would be moving together with the TACAN station, so that would be no problem
  18. No such thing for the Hornet's AN/ALR-67 - what we have ingame is what there is IRL, with regards to sounds. Not entirely sure about the Viper, but keep in mind that "the other sim" modeled various different RWR systems, not only the AN/ALR-56 we have in DCS. The 56 is accurate as well, though, with no different sounds for specific aircraft, unless I am awfully mistaken.
  19. Tracks in DCS record all keypress and other inputs, so by looking at a track it will be possible to more accurately tell what's going wrong at your side.
  20. The HUD shows drift due to winds. In order to cage or uncage your VVI: press cage / uncage
