  1. Ah ha! a few years ago (1980s) a friend of mine dug a hurricane out of a peat bog in Caithness near the Causeway Mire. It was involved with dissimilar air combat training with a spitfire from Castleton airfield when they collided. The pilot of the Hurricane was from Norway and visited my friend to see the wreckage, the biggest bit of which was a slightly banana shaped Merlin engine, which apart from being bent from hitting the bedrock about 10m down in the peat, was in very good condition. The spitfire managed to return to Castleton and was repaired and flew again. The Hurricane remains were found during a survey for Fountain Forestry before they planted a new forest there.
  2. When I read the title of the thread first thought was C130 but when I opened the thread it was about helicopters, so, CH47 but only if I can get my car in game too :D Club day out with a Chinook, and I'm the grinning idiot at the controls in the above pic :joystick:
  3. Ah Cr#p, purchase went through twice, and now awaiting refund so I can buy it again properly
  4. Still an issue for me today, tried with paypal and got an error that the paypal didn't go through, tried again and got the same error and told to try a different method of payment, so I used my debit card and the sale went through, later I got an email from Paypal saying the original charge had gone through and has debited it from my account, which I have confirmed with my bank statement, so I got charged twice for the same Mirage 2000 module. Email has been sent to support.
  5. L'avion est maintenant dans ma collection :)
  6. @vali_grad: If you are waiting on something from Smart then you will be waiting even longer, LoD has been a long time in development and never likely to be finished, just like all his other "games" I got BC3000 for free with a DVD drive and I think I was over charged for the game. CIG announced the new joystick back in August at Gamescon, but true to Saitek's reputation, the model they revealed was broken, embarrassing moment that was. The FPS/large universe is getting closer to release, and the demo we seen at the citizencon in Manchester looked good.
  7. Is this what you are looking for? January 1972 to Jan 1973 EDIT: this is just a repeating video after 11:50 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgIqMS71wuM
  8. This. Ah well
  9. With SC being 30GB already and only for the Arena Commander and ArcCorps you may have to re think your SSD allocation...
  10. The SU-17 was in service by 1970 and it had variable geometry wings
  11. Yep that's how I did it last time, but it has been a while since I re-installed my Cougar, but after last weekends disastrous brush with Win 10 wiping the boot sector of my Win 7 disk I have had to re install everything  Anyway, after using your files for a while I went ahead and got myself a set of MFDs as I happened to be passing a shop near Brussels that sells a lot of flight sim gear, couldn't quite stretch to a Warthog tho - maybe next time :joystick:
  12. Rolland, I replied to you in the other thread you had posted on http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=116454&page=12
  13. Yes it is a problem! I had the same problems with installing on Win7 x64. On SimHQ Lancelot gives a good set of instructions on how to solve it, but there is more than one way to do it. More info and alternative methods can be found on: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2872845/Hotas_Cougar_on_Windows_7.html
  14. Just back, grandson did not want to leave the show, it was quite good and the weather held off almost to the end. When Vince's mum asked him how it was he said "Chic and cooool" That Melissa Pemberton put on a good display, at one point my heart was in my mouth thinking she wouldn't pull out in time but she did with plenty of clearance, my grandson said "Wow" and had a great big grin. I never took any pictures I just enjoyed the show and being in company with Vince. He can spot the aircraft coming a good 4 or 5 seconds before I can see them, I noticed that the last time we went to the sunset show in 2012 when he was only 2 he spotted the C-130 coming in and pointed to it, I looked and could see nothing, eventually I could just see it exactly where he was pointing.
  15. Sigh! so beautiful :D:music_whistling: The first supercruising fighter ... not that it let it go very far :smilewink:
  16. Today Rain rain rain... oh and some wind too:huh: Forecast for tomorrow is supposed to be a bit better 19°c partially cloudy, and sunday... 17°c and rain Not heard much activity of practice flights, normally they are giving it a good rehearsal in the few days before the show. Apart from a C-130 doing some very tight turns overhead a few days ago not seen anything, it was overhead and at about 60° of bank, the engines were thundering with plenty of black smoke streaming behind :joystick::pilotfly::D
  17. Ah but if it does the GIUK gap then I may get my home airfield included as well as the bombing range at Cape Wrath :)
  18. Heh! tell me about it, as I'm local, I live in Hechtel-Eksel, I can give you an up to the minute weather report :music_whistling:
  19. Going with my grandson to the sunset show on Friday evening and the show on Sunday. quite looking forward to this years show. 21. There are quite a few sorry to say, I'll work from the tail forward, would you rather me post up here or send them direct to you?
  22. Great photography. Always look forward to seeing your next project, thanks for posting it up. My only criticism is that a few spelling mistakes have crept in on some of the labels. Example:
  23. VEAO have a couple of British twin engine aircraft on their "Roadmap" http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2122426&postcount=1
  24. I can just see the particle calculation bringing every PC to it's knees
  25. Thanks Chris, enjoyed seeing that
