Been watching alot of videos on the M2 Browning Ma' Deuce, now inspired to make a wanna be controller, that will be functional for the UH-1H and Mi24P doorgun position. (hoping it will work for SA342 minigun variant and ch47 Chinook in future) **UPDATE** 07.26.2023 Eagle Dynamics added joystick binds to the Mi24P doorgun, so this build is working The minigun build is a blast to use, but agony to build. Joystick - one buttonpress triggering multiple functions?
jackd posted a topic in DCS Core Wish List
Joystick single button triggering multiple functions? Probably asked before, but it might be useful with individual planes to have (a script editing option?) more than one function for a sequence of events happening when you press one button on your joystick. Example, press a button and with say a Mosquito the bomb-doors open, bombs are fused, and maybe also dropped with some editable delay. -
I have set up a new HOTAS I got, TFlight Hotas x. But i do not think that matters as, no matter what I do the rudder do not function. They LOOK like they do, the pedals turn and rudders turn, but the plane does not move. I tried it with Joy-RZ, z and x and another combo. And once again, the visuals work in game showing that my controls and bindings are not wrong, but nothing happens. I cannot taxi. So obviously I do not think it is a hardware issue so I am unsure what to do. Please advise.

I'm at my wits end. My thustmaster HOTAS quit working at all. 16000s Hotas It worked a few months ago and have been to busy to fly. Fired up my AC and no joy at all. Win 7 using the older version of DCS. Uninstalled DCS and reinstalled completely. Still no joy. I just want to fly around and blow <profanity> up. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Hello! I'm looking for the dimensions of the throttle and stick in the MIG-21 as a wish to build a functioning replica to be used with DCS. Has anyone any ideas on where I could get a hold of these dimensions or point me in a good direction? Thanks in advance!

Hi all, I am planning to order the Collective from VirPil in July :), and was considering pairing it up with a new joystick and base (now got the TM Warthog with F/A-18 Grip) to go with it... But can't decide on which Grip there would be best suited for helicopter operations. So can you come with any recommendations??? Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone. Need help here. I bought the Saitek X-56, and I am having issues. I calibrated the joystick and Axis tuned my X56 to my F-18. While playing the game and I'm pitching and rolling, my plane acts a little erratic like it wobbles or lose control momentarily, and plane stalls even when I am going at a decent speed. When I disconnect the joystick and use my keyboard, the F18 flies well. No stalling or wobbles. I also used another stick, my X52, and my plane flies fine. I played with the curvature and deadzones and no luck. Please help. 1. Video of what is happening. 2. Video of just keyboard. 3. Another video of what is wrong.

Was mache ich falsch?

Hi, I’ve always had my joystick configured, for the F-16, so the the cms are mapped to the little joystick C-Stick as show in the attached image. I used the band option to do this. In the profiler, while I test the stick and move the little joystick it shows the right keypresses however it is not registered in the game. Of course I mapped the same keys in the game and tested it by pressing, E.g. (Shift+Num4) This started happening a few weeks ago. I managed to fix this once or twice by terminating the profile process and restarting it but even this no longer work. Restarting the PC did not help either not reinstalling to diver. Any suggestions? nullnull

my situation. looking to build a low profile light weight mock doorgun controller (in anticipation for joystick control of mi24 doorgun) i need it light weight so that i can mount it on my motion platform. i had previously built a doorgun joystick resembling a minigun with vibration effects powered by small tactile feedback pucks (bass shakers) pushed by andre's simshakre software... IT WORKS AMAZING but it was a massive undertaking to build and would be too heavy to mount on my motion rig. im going for a simpler build and already have an idea on how to build, but it will lack vibration until i can find a solution.. that doesnt use buttkickers (because the shakers are just heavy) vibration motors seem to be my solution, but i have no idea yet on how to implement... will have to get my head into vibration circuits.. my goal is to have it read lua export send data as off/on state to arduino to send voltage to vibration motors... any mad scientists in here?

Found a cheapo handheld wireless trackball on Amazon and have just hot-glued it to the top of my warthog stick. (Hot glue having the advantage of setting totally rigid in seconds and being fairly easy to completely remove - I use it all the time in my workshop for temporary jigs) Ok, looks a bit weird but works well and positioned there it doesn't get in the way of any of my stick controls. The trigger in the loophole is left click, which is nice as you can click while your thumb's on the ball, and there are 2 right click buttons one either side of the scroll wheel. The top buttons are hard coded as escape and enter. Taking a bit of getting used to but I already prefer it to reaching for my desk mouse in VR. The hot glue bond is actually strong enough for me to be able to manouver the stick while holding it by the trackball grip

In the DCS Main screen/Options screen/ the peripheral key bindings are correct and function well. But as soon as the mission starts no input peripheral work. Not working: VFX-grip, SaitekX52 Throttle, TrackIr and Keyboard.

OK. My Joystick is Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog. There are no pedals. I have my scripts to settings the joystick. There is a special button to clear all profiles from all aircraft. I clicked. Now I need to select each line and click on the default button to restore the default key. Is possible the restore the all keys from all aircraft without selecting each line?

currently building and sharing info on building a joystick version 2 , that is a device resembling a gun turret. my first version is successfully functional for the DCS Huey UH1H doorgun because it has everything needed in the codebase for it to function (i.e. player view decoupled from the gun axis, AND joysticks assignable to the gun axis.) WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE these conditions working in Combine Arms Wish list is to operate M2 Browning on an M1A1 abrams...or even a Kord on a technical.. Even better, have vehicles to be multiseat... Dream would be to play in VR with buddy driving me around while i use joystick controlled turret gun, mounted gun trying to shoot down DCS players in aircraft modules!

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, I purchased a module for the SU-33 (Love this jet!) a while back and haven't really got into DCS yet, but thanks to the efforts of a few YouTube influencers I am thinking about getting into it on a casual level. So far I've only been in newbie-servers a few times just to get my airplane in the air and back again. Haven't even gotten into radar yet and the likes of that. I am living in the Netherlands so the choice of joysticks and throttles isn't that broad. Up until now I have been playing with a old Microsoft Sidewinder Joystick (X05-63895) with USB and even though it 'kinda' works it isn't really an optimal solution for me since I don't really have anything to control the throttle/brakes with? What would be good types/models/brands of joysticks and throttles to start with and specially the combination of joysticks/throttles? And what about their connectivity? Is it all USBs? For someone that isn't using VR or headtrackers, is there an alternative to tilt the view from within the cockpit? (PS5 controller perhaps?) I'm looking for something that might be in the max 300 euro price range if that is at all possible for both throttle and joystick? Kind Regards!

I ran an original Orion for over a year and decided to upgrade to the Orion 2 since I can customize it with cams, springs and dampers. After getting it set up and flying for a few hours I noticed that there is a dead spot for the x and y axis. I do not have a dead spot set in either the DCS axis tune or the Simapp. I am also using the 18 cm extension on it's lowest setting which places the top of the grip at 13 inches from the top of the base. I can move the grip in any direction at least a 1/2 inch before it registers any movement. With my previous Orion and same extension the slightest move would register. The latest firmware has been installed. Bad Hall sensor? Thank you in advance for any insight!
