archer86 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 You took it to personal Archer. Keep cool dude. I have noticed flying under the clouds (coumulus one) that was getting a bit darker than under pure sun. But flying with such a speed, don't expect seeing sharp edge of a cloud on your instruments panel ;) Or if the panel was like 100m2 you would be able to see that efect ;) Lets hope they will improve that in EDGE. Over and out. P.S. What a great exemple of solidarity in here XD good one:) lets hope!
theropod Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 good one:) lets hope! edge is all about new graphical engine and i guess it will bring new suprices:) wait for new wip videos and announcements.
Comstedt86 Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Anyone else noticed that the site is down ? Could this be something about EDGE & 2.0 perhaps? Anything is a sign if your willing to believe it, lol http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/ Site under construction. Please try again later.
T_A Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I wouldn't read too much into it, my guess is that they wont make their big media announcements and major site changes before EDGE is out of public testing and in official version. Well, reinventing your webspace could be beneficial for a big upgrade like EDGE and trying to attract new players. Still, spiffy site. Reformers hate him! This one weird trick found by a bush pilot will make gunfighter obsessed old farts angry at your multi-role carrier deck line up!

kobac Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I would most like to ED stop publishing patches for v 1.2.6. xxxxx because it would then mean that it will soon be published version 2.0, which I'm expected by the end of April. :music_whistling: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]Everything is possible ...
joebloggs Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I would most like to ED stop publishing patches for v 1.2.6. xxxxx because it would then mean that it will soon be published version 2.0, which I'm expected by the end of April. :music_whistling: People have been speculating about release dates for more then 2 years. I think the next news letter will be significant though. The February one mentioned that an Alpha was nearing, so what can the next news letter say about Edge? What comes after "nearing" apart from close or released? Maybe that's why were not seeing a news letter since Feb.:D

SilentGun Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 (edited) People have been speculating about release dates for more then 2 years. 2? ive been waiting for about 3-4 years :P But in all seriousness take your time ED. it will be done when its done. EDIT: question, will the NTTR map have undetailed terrain's? like say the pacific ocean? Python Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 There was another interview with Matt in this months PC pilot, some good stuff but one thing stood out to me.... Over wing Vapor confirmed! He also mentioned that within the next 5 years he hopes DCS will have dedicated arenas such as WW2, Korea and even Vietnam. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Any guess about when V2 Open Beta will become available ?... I believe someone from the ED Team mentioned an Open Beta would preclude the release of EDGE. Are there any dates yet? Flight Simulation is the Virtual Materialization of a Dream...

uboats Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 (edited) In the interview, Matt mentioned several interesting features: 1. new engine allows turbulence at the top of mountains or sth like that. It seems to be a terrain-related effect, no need to place the effect in ME in current dcs. 2. No need upgrade of current spec but just a dx11 card, then you will notice performance boost 3. Better ai control by player, e.g response to Sam or foe, AB usage etc Edited April 17, 2015 by uboats [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] My DCS Mods, Skins, Utilities and Scripts | Windows 10 | i7-4790K | GTX 980Ti Hybrid | 32GB RAM | 3TB SSD | | TM Warthog Stick | CH Pro Throttle + Pro Pedal | TIR5 Pro | TM MFD Cougar | Gun Camera: PrtScn |
Aginor Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 1. Sounds very good! I hope they also include thermic effects (below clouds for example). Not very noticable in jets I think, unless you are really close, but the WW2 planes and helis will have a much more immersive experience. 2. I'm really curious how it will perform. 3. sounds good! sobek Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 (edited) IIRC, Yo-Yo mentioned in a recent post that the performance hit was too big for inter aircraft engine backwash effects. Edited April 17, 2015 by sobek Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
msalama Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 inter aircraft engine backwash effects. What's that, wake turbulence perchance? Not sure I understood you  The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
SimFreak Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 What's that, wake turbulence perchance? Not sure I understood you  Me neither. Is that like a back blast that will effect other aircraft?
Witchking Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Maybe it is due to the effect that it could have on formation flying? But too much resource intensive. VincentLaw Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 What's that, wake turbulence perchance? Not sure I understood you :unsure:He is talking about jet wash, which is only a component of wake turbulence. Wingtip vortices would take more resources to model because they can last for minutes after an aircraft flies past. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
