ED Team NineLine Posted June 10, 2015 ED Team Posted June 10, 2015 There is a difference between supporting dx11 and having it as minimum requirement A small confirmation by sithspawn would be great if he is allowed to tell :music_whistling: Everything I know/can say is in the first post. If I was a gambling man, I would say gambling on your non-Dx11 card doing well with 2.0 is a bad bet. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**

Svend_Dellepude Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 A little update: Today we reached a significant milestone of moving the NTTR map into full internal testing such that our external testers can now pound on it. There are still several blocking bugs, but we are working hard to resolve them has fast as we can. As mentioned in the first post of this thread, let's all try to keep on topic please. Thanks a simple question to the external testers. have you started? :) Seems so.. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Win10 64, Asus Maximus VIII Formula, i5 6600K, Geforce 980 GTX Ti, 32 GB Ram, Samsung EVO SSD.

SkateZilla Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 (edited) DirectX11, its safe to assume the safe minimum DirectX Support is 11, There are ways of running DX11 on DX9 cards but its a feature of DX11 and only a handful of titles actually use it (by limiting the DX11Supoort Level to DX9 items, and making a toggle between full DX 11 ( feature level 11_1) Support Level Items and a Lower Support Level (Feature Level 9_1/9_2/9_3) (DX9 items), the GUI would say DirectX11 or DirectX9 when choosing a renderer, but the base is all DX11, just using different Feature Levels, (ie Shogun II) This feature was Introduced in DX11 to allow developers to Support Multiple DX Versions without having to rewrite the renderer for each DX Level. There are multiple feature levels, 9_1,9_2,9_3 10_0,10_1 11_0,11_1,11_2 12_0,12_1,12_3 etc Whether or not ED is choosing,(or able) to use these and allow / support different feature levels is unknown/unconfirmed, the new engine maynot even allow limiting feature set to 9_x. As the whole point of moving to DX11 was because of the limits of DX9. Just because the feature levels exist in DX11.doesnt mean every engine can use them. Griffon26 Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 I really look forward to DCS2.0 hopefully with Collisionable trees, signs and so on ;) Also I would really like to see more Combined Arms Stuff like new models and HUD if there some. Also pls dont blame me for that Question I hadnt had much time to read the news the past weeks/months but are there any plans about new Planes for the KI? Like F35, Harrier, F22 and of course some Red Fractioned Planes. Whats about new Choppers? And finally new countrys? China would be a good Choice if you ask me ;) As I said pls excuse that question something like that had been answered many times I guess... See here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=116893 You're very very unlikely to see the F22 in DCS, slightly less unlikely for the F35 but still almost 0% chance. Fancy trying Star Citizen? DAZnBLAST Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 (edited) Might have already been asked, but will DCS World 2 be compatible with Windows 10 given that most people with Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8.1 are getting Windows 10 free on July 29th. Obviously you have to have Windows Update enabled to know this information. DAZnBLAST Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 (edited) So there is no-one in the ED/DCS family that has early access to this new OS then? Guess that means DCS World 2 will definitely have to come after Windows 10 is released for it to be tested on that OS! Saying that, there's always compatibility mode! joebloggs Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 I really look forward to DCS2.0 hopefully with Collisionable trees. I can't help but wonder if DCS 2 is close to release or still some way of when questions like this still haven't been answered. I would have thought if it was close that this is something that is known already. I'm not bothered by the trees myself because I fly jets, but I can understand people's eagerness to know if they fly choppers. One thing I'd like to know, but not sure if it can be answered, is will you be able to limit the scenery and things if your FPS struggle?

Sukhoi25 Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 (edited) Will DCSW2.0 bring signifiant changes for aircraft modelling? So someone like SvkSniper that's developing a MiG-23ML should redo all or are DCSW and DCSW2.0 aircrafts compatible? Roadrunner Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 Can we get all the people who are so concerned with having tree collisions to promise us that if they ever read "Chickenhawk" they won't come back to complain that DCS Huey can't cut its own landing area in a forest. :) that was indeed a nice read, but i also dont think we will be able to do just that, oh, for the book, i would have liked to see those rotorblades when he finaly shut down the huey :D [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "There's nothing to be gained by second guessing yourself. Stacker Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 From my developer point of view, I'm looking forward to getting under the hood with DCS2. In particular I wonder what goodies (if any) we are going to get with the scripting environment. I notice that Wags mentioned mission editor improvements, it'll be interesting if that also translates into scripting API updates etc.. i7-4790K@4.7GHz : EVGA 1070 SC : 16GB Corsair Vengence Pro : 2xEVO 840 SSD : EVGA 850W PSU : CORSAIR H100i Cooler : ASUS Z97-AR MB : CORSAIR OBSIDIAN 750D FULL TOWER
