If it is to be a F14, especially up to LN standards, I cant throw money at it fast enough....Mig 21 is so stunning I can barely keep my hands off her....2 seats, transitional wings, supersonic, Western avionics....humminah humminah POW!

I think it was told before that for the near future there will be no 2 seater aircrafts. So why do you people insist?

:)

Let's wait one or two days and see what's in the hoven for us

Happy new year to LN and to all simmers

Do you have a link for that?

Nope.... I don't even remember which thread that was written on... but I think it was something related with attack helicopters if i'm not wrong.... It was mentioned that several things had to be changed on the game engine before 2 seaters can be correctly implemented...

And let me say, despite the fact that both F4 and F14 were iconic aircrafts, I'd prefer single seaters.... 2 seaters just can't be used on a single player campaign, only MP....

I don't recall LN ever saying anything to that effect. There's been general discussion about DCS: World not having multi-crewed aircraft for a while yet, but that doesn't preclude developing multi-seat aircraft like the Huey and Hip that we already have. It's a twin-engine jet that the US Navy flew but the US Marine Corps didn't, and Cobra's past few avatar picture have all been easily found via image search to be taken from F-14 squadron insignias..

Obviously, we'll hopefully get a conclusive answer soon, but if it's not an F-14 it would have to be something extraordinarily vague. I'm no slouch on fighter jets and there's nothing else I can think of that fits the bill. And I don't think LN is shooting for a vague follow-on to their MiG-21Bis.

This was already addressed by Cobra in another thread a month or two back, where he stated that (paraphrasing) "what was said in the past doesn't matter in the present". Also, ED is closing in on releasing their first two seater (the L-39), so indeed there are two seater aircraft in the near future.

Not to mention the Hawk and the C101 which are both two seater jet trainers...

Sorry to say so but it would be completely idiotic to have 3 different jet trainers without the possibility two use it in MP. So I hope for a big change with the arrival of the L-39.

oh NO, not the dreaded "Day or Two", which was on the 31st which means news coming today. Worst thing is, even if they announce the F-14, a conservative estimate for release would be 18 months. In that time, dozens of things in DCS World will change which will cause a further 6 -12 month delay, that is the nature of dev in DCS world.

Coba wrote before the release of the MiG-21, that the new project(s) are already progressing. Still, it is true that whatever comes (I'm in :music_whistling:), we won't have it tomorrow, but rather soon® :D

But hey, we have a plenty of birds to play with, and I also would like to say a BIG THANKS to LNS for giving us this fantastic MiG-21! It is a real jewel of mine, as well as a jewel of the DCS sky.
