This is DCS, not Call of Duty with planes.

In public games, DCS is as any other multiplayer title. It's the same with ARMA public, which is in a squad also a serious sim, like DCS. But public is public. ;)

Try Team Speak and join a squad.

Works like hell.

Lonewolves works by they own. Forget about them. They are not interested in teamwork chat or TS. They are lone-wolves because they like it that way. If you dont like it join a squad and use ts.

I already do this, but it would be nice if some teammates would respond again like they did in 1.2 when the chat window was obviously visible.

I cant even see the text in the chat window due to my 2560 x 1600 resolution,, I made a post on this well over a year ago to try and find a way to make the text larger,,, never got any responses after several attempts to bump the post,,, I gave up,, I simply cant see it because its too tiny,,,,

Right now the problem is even worse because of how tiny the chat window is and how flooded it is with messages telling this player occupied this plane, this guy killed this thing with this weapon etc. etc...

But apparently nobody cares.

Then you should try this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=149832

I'm using the Nvidia DSR at 3840x2160, native resolution 1920x1080. This mod solve the problem, give it a try.

And teamwork?

It's important as hell, and the amount of people not using team speak is shocking.

How everybody is playing lone wolf and not helping because they don't read the chat.

This is DCS, not Call of Duty with planes.

Most funny is that I have absolute opposite.

Lonewolves are usually the more cooperative and people with squadron marks just don't even answer you.

I guess it come down to communication skills. You should read the countless accounts of noobs and lone pilot participating greatly in the Buddy spike event.

Other than that - I agree with others. Current chat sucks badly. They are good ideas behind but not practical in reality.

Usually lonewolves would indeed respond quickly, but right now the chat is way too spammy as it gets littered by messages of every action done, thus causing nobody to ever look at the chat again "because it's most likely just another guy switching slots"

And the window is so small, with no option to filter.

The server host can turn all of these mesages on, but please give us clients a filter so we can choose what we want to see.

I think 1.5 won't be there anymore because we switched to 2.0

Yes I'm curious about this, wonder if the current 1.5 OB will be upgraded to 2.0 version, would be nice for some peoples like me who have a poor bandwidth to not have to redownload the whole thing.

The updater is intelligent and downloads only the files that needs to be updated, while keeping all files that are unchanged. It even cross checks for files it can use between the stable install and open beta install if you have both. For example, if you are installing open beta, it checks your stable install and copies everything it can use before starting to download what is necessary.

That's nice, thank you!

The new updater uses BitTorrent to download. It needs settings to limit download/upload rate like any other torrent client or else it hogs all your bandwidth in a very inconvenient and inefficient way.

Torrent is really slow, this is going to take a long time :(

1.3GB @ 150kb/s is about 30 hours, my PC won't be on that long, hope the updated can continue from where it was stopped

Its being looked at, it is Open Beta, even the installer/updater.

well it is better you know what it is doing than not, the speed is up and down between 380kb/sec to 140kb/sec

I know my ISP throttles torrents back when it is recognised, with a 200Mb/s down and 20Mb/s up my connection is fairly good most of the time.

edit: someone took the plug out the hole, it is now over 1Mb/sec :D
