Would be good if you just tell us this before it gets pushed forward, because it sounds like there was zero chance of it coming out before the weekend. We have no clue how ED do things, and they don't communicate with us.

If you see everyone hyping about it coming out wednesday/thursday/friday, just say 'no it's not'. Easier for everyone.

But we cannot say that. As I said, it is ED's call. It was the reason why we ignored your requests for a release date. We can push for a certain date and it is ED who says yes or no based on their own internal processes.

Do you think I like teasing? In fact we were/are a little scared of the frenzy created by our images, but we decided to show you how far we are in the aircraft development. My last teasers were made tongue-in-cheek because by this time we knew that we were really close to release, and yet could not tell you anything about that.

Our proposed date was today. ED actually tried to accommodate us but then said that no, that certain goals must be met in order to authorize the release. So, they and us are working hard to meet those goals by this weekend so the aircraft gets released next week.

Yes, we believe that the aircraft is ready but it is ED who must certify that readiness and they will do it carefully, thoroughly and as fast as they can.

ED has committed to a date range, unless something serious happens the aircraft will be released sometime in that range.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not upset with anyone here. There's clearly an intention to communicate and keep us up to date, which I respect a lot. It's just that we have so little understanding about the workings of the release process, that the info we were getting was only feeding what now seems like unnecessary expectations.

No resentment at all, but these are events all sides can learn from and I just want to point that out. So it can be avoided next time.

I don't know why people get so upset... deadline is End of December, as stated in Product announcement.

Still December, Next week... still December.

You guys are funny ...

First, the thread is overheating with (hyper)hype and then when all the wishfull thinking did not come true, the thread starts to spin as fast as before - just in the opposite direction.

Q: ED WHY U NO RELEASE MURAGE *rage*!?

A: They test the module that it, well, just work in DCS 1.5/2.0

Q: ED! Let us beta test it - that's OUR job!!!!111!

A: ED probably just tests the technical aspects - that all necessary files are there and in the right place, that the module is properly recognized by DCS, etc.

The fun part, finding logical bugs ... I am more than sure that they will leave us a few to find ....

Q: B..bbut the module was "ready" ... they said!?

A: Yep. But there are many steps between a "works on my dev system" and "auto-installs and updates with the autoupdater". Plenty of room for errors and bugs.

Q: okok! But LNS and the MiG-21 ... they were not so picky then ... as the non-clickable 2.0 MiG-21 is proof of! ha!

A: Yeah, that was not a First Release of a "newcomer". That was just an update - that went wrong. But anyway, would you guys be really more happy if the M2K would ... fail the same way?

Q: but ... uhm ... BUT I WANT IT!!!!

A: can we please close this thread? Just keep Zeus' last posing to conclude it ...

I recollect that very product page you're siting having said "By Mid-December" when I pre-ordered. Just for clarification.

ED probably doesn't want the release of the Mirage to interfere with the sale of the A-10C.

No worries, next week will be Mirage week hopefully. :)

Mirage 2000 release date

=TomCatMucDe;2604638][QU OTE=Zeus67;2604493]Okay Folks. I understand that you are upset with ED's "Next Week" announcement instead of a hard date.

But the problem is that not even ED knows when it will be ready for release. Only that it will be some day next week.

ED is not only responsible for releasing the M-2000C. They are responsible for other stuff, like updates to 1.5.2 and 2.0.0. Updates to other modules as well. And it takes time to get a release ready, specially since it involves creating/updating installers.

ED will have to create new installers for 1.5.2 and 2.0.0 that include the M-2000C. And those do not get made in one hour. They take days. Specially since the installer itself is over 9 Gbytes of data. So let's cut some slack on that part.

As for the testing, well they want to make sure that our aircraft pass their quality requirements. We are certain that it does, but they follow the motto "trust but verify". So they will test and see what problems will come out, and so far there are minor bugs, and if nothing major appears they will give the green light for release.

It is a beta, they know it is a beta. They just want to make sure that our definition of beta and theirs is the same.

I am confident that it will pass muster and that it will be released as soon as possible. I hope that it will be on Wednesday, so that you can fly that beautiful aircraft on Christmas.

Fair enough :)

I left this thread with 20 pages and it is 82 now, what happened ? Did someone find the meaning of life ? :megalol:

Allez, encore un weekend à se preparer pour un premier vol en 2000.
