joey45
Most of the smaller airports are not modeled. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. Aeroscout
Yup, I noticed this too. First thing I did when I fired up the Nevada map was to fly over the key locations from Fallout New Vegas (I quite like that game). Searchlight (about as far south as you can go before they stopped bothering to detail stuff) should have an airport, but it's only visible as the low res discolorations in the desert you describe. Think I saw one at Primm as well, though google earth suggests otherwise. (On the subject of Primm, ED forgot to add the rollorcoaster there, though I don't think many people are going to be flying to the south end of the map anyway) DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices
Kayos
Yep, I've flown over the Tonopah Test Range Airport a few times. Hopefully it gets modelled eventually. It would make a good airport for a PVP Server since all the airports we have now are so close to each other. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
will487
Are there plans to implement any of these other airfields? I remember hearing about future plans for Tonopah but not any others? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Bourrinopathe
Afaik, only Tonopah is on the menu. The focus is on the military theater/operations airfields. There's so much to do first, I don't think we'll see more civilian airfields anytime soon (and imho, it’s better that way). The Yucca runway/airfield is partially modeled (east of the salt flat) but without any AI logic (36°55'39"N, 116°00'28"W). /// ВКБ: GF Pro MkII+MCG Pro/GF MkII+SCG L/Black Mamba MkIII/Gladiator/T-Rudder MkII | X-55 Rhino throttle/Saitek Throttle Quadrant | OpenTrack+UTC /// ZULU +4 /// /// "THE T3ASE": i9 9900K | 64 GB DDR4 | RTX 2080ti OC | 2 TB NVMe SSDs, 1 TB SATA SSD, 12 TB HDDs | Gigabyte DESIGNARE mobo ///
piXel496
Add a few airports to the NTTR map I explored the current NTTR map and I really like what I see. The only thing is the active size of possible operations. With some minor set dressing in the outskirts of the map and a few extra airfields the NTTR map would be complete. Currently the map is a bit small especially since supersonic aircrafts are at the DCS development horizon. Is adding some objects to the Nevada map in the planning? Some airfield suggestions: - Tonopah - Laughlin - Mesquite (something is already prepared there) - Bolder city If someone has an idea please elaborate. :) Edited December 14, 2015 by piXel496 I hope this is the correct wishlist subforum to get some feedback old stuff I made
Buzzles
There's plently of posts on the topic but in short order: Maybe. ED are interested in military bases for Nevada to support Red Flag missions, which is what the map was done for. Wags has mentioned that Tonopah is one they'd like to do at some point, resources permitting, as it relates to the above point. Fancy trying Star Citizen? Click here! OxideMako
Some airfield suggestions: - Tonopah - Laughlin Tonopah at least needs to be added really. If they do anything, do these two. It allows the use of the whole map for PVP scenarios, and would infinitely improve the usability of the NTTR map as a whole. They are already in the map, just need to be implemented. Extending the map is unlikely, so using these two makes much better sense IMO.

rrohde
Nothing is stopping ED from stitching additional map pieces to the existing NTTR map down the line. They know that we will eat this up and pay $$$ for it. AMEDooley
If you look at the sectional you will see that the NTTR is only part of a much larger range complex. Were the map to be expanded to include all of these areas, then we would have a larger number of airfields to choose from and make scenarios with, such as: Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Expeditionary Air Field (MCAGCC EAF) Edwards Main Edwards South Edwards Aux North Roger dry lakebed Palmdale/Plant 42 SoCal Logistics Airfield (aka SCLA - formerly George AFB) Mojave NAS China Lake Goldstone (Ft. Irwin) Bicycle Lake (Ft. Irwin) Bullhead City (Laughlin, NV/Bullhead City, AZ) Lake Havasu Needles Fox Field (Lancaster, CA) Grey Butte El Mirage Daggett Barstow In this way I think the map would match the same scale and flexibility of the Black Sea region map. Don't forget NAS Fallon, home of top gun! And NAS Lemoore is home to more than just the RAG squadron. It the entire fleet of F/A-18A-F for the Pac Fleet. Minus Japan of course.
