You should do a map of NOVA and DC Area!

I would love to fly some VIP missions along the Potomac River. I see the UH-1N zig zagging along the river quite often. The scenery would be amazing flying over the DC area with all the monuments, pentagon, DCA etc...

I think once Carrier Operations are introduced into DCS it would be awesome to have maps like these. I'm pretty sure from what I've heard 3rd party developers are already making maps for WW2 scenarios.

Afghanistan would be timely and appropriate, given some of the modules we have to play with. It would suit a future Apache module, if such a thing were to exist. As well as the F-18 and F-14 modules. Iraq is another obvious choice, and would make excellent F-117 missions ;)

 

The only thing is, with Nevada and Hormuz, we have a healthy amount of arid environments to play with - it might be nice to see something different - Bosnia and Herzegovina? I guess that's very similar to the Caucasus in geography and environment.

How about another WW2 map with focus on eastern germany containing Berlin and Dresden? Or maybe shifted a little more over the polish border. Essentially it includes a few of the pivotal areas during the last days and weeks of WW2. And yes, all these cities fit into one single map about 400x300km

Germany would be really nice for a WW2 scenario but the map scale would be huge because the distances between the cities where they fought are to long.

 

Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg and other cities are to far away from each other. I mean you need to make Germany as a whole map. And this map will be made for a WW2 scenario so only prop planes and then the huge area would make no sense.

 

But there should be enough maps in development right now...

I would prefer a Cold War version of this map -> DCS Fulda Gap (The city of Fulda is already visible in the lower left corner. The white line is going through the city name)

An extension / addition to NNTR that adds California.

Edwards AFB, Vandenberg, Travis, Lemoore etc.

Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco etc.

 

Lots of airbases / naval air stations, the home of pacific fleet carriers, NAS Lemoore is where they teach F-18 pilots how to fly :music_whistling:

Sea, Mountains, forests, desert and big cities all in one pack.

 

If they ever make an Hawaii map, the carriers could start from San Diego and reach Hawaii, making for some long range missions and scenarios.

 

I know it's a dream, and it would take a lot and a lot of work, but it would amazing. If ED released an SDK a lot of people would be willing to add to the scenery.

Would make perfectly sense to make Germany with some areas of Poland as a cold war scenario. Most of DCS fighters are in a state from the 70-90ies and this area would have been the main theatre...
