Krupi Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Not holding my breath on this one anymore, these forums were a little premature ;) It's been moved from "mid-2016" to "late 2016" so there might still be a long way. ! Where did you read that  Updated roadmap :( Modules + Spitfire Mark IXc LF (in progress) (Late 2016) (was mid-2016 before, it's never easy to estimate such work of course) Another way to see this: the Normandy map will be closer to early release/completion/whenever we can grab it ;) Edited September 19, 2016 by Redglyph System specs: Win7 x64 | CPU: i7-4770K | RAM: 16 GB | GPU: GTX 980 Ti 6 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS | MFG rudder pedals | SATA3 SSD | TrackIR

WildBillKelsoe Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 I'll boot up the quickstart cold start mission (while checking temps and winds to avoid ruining engine), then read manual inside the cold and dark cockpit first, then locate each and every switch and map them mentally in comparison to the 109, then read some more about supercharger if any exists, fuel, flight charchar, then attempt starting up (while ESC and mapping controls as I go thru manual), then I'll attempt a takeoff and if successful under CH pedals, will orbit around at high altitude then read more on landing, at which point I'll do touch and go as soft trial and if comfy and predictable, will go around and land. No guns or weaps on first day for me. I like to fly first and saddle the bronco before I notch it up. Art-J Posted November 5, 2016 Posted November 5, 2016 RTFM, followed by figuring out how to take off in the first ever DCS warbird, in which you cannot lock or steer a tailwheel (if I recall correctly). I'm afraid that will make things much more challenging than in previous three modules (for guys like me, who don't own fancy rudder pedals). I might follow someone's suggestion of practicing already now in 109 with the wheel unlocked... i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

bart Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 (edited) Start humming the Battle of Britain tune... Classic  Brings back memories of a rather proud day I had when in the RAF. I took part in the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain parade in London in 1990. Big fly past, and the last two aircraft that flew down the Mall was a Hurricane and a Spitfire wing tip to wing tip VERY low and they peeled off in front of the palace one went left the other right. They must have been down to 50ft! There were lots of veteran pilots attending. A great story went around at the time that there was a big party held for them in London. A group of Polish veterans were going from their hotel to the venue and when the taxi driver found out who they were he refused to accept the fare. Nice touch that. The way the brakes operate is somewhat different too, been giving me fits adjusting to it :) Ahhhh.....so SiThSpAwN is testing the old girl :) cmon Sith...........what's she like???????
