in normandy map, water textures are insane. especially in the storm. watch the video till the end

That's really awesome to watch and I am sure it will be great in game as well. I just wish that ED would separate the sea state from the wind.

What did the ship's wake look like? Was it improved any from what we have now?

It's a great time to look at your mods again :)

My Pr.205 has now "apropiate" targets (AKAs and LCMs was operative on 50s and 60s)... preys to the P-15s

hmmm... why is the destroyer rolling so heavily in an almost completely calm sea?

The bow-spray seems to be being emitted from too high too.

Also, the foam on the waves rolling into the beach appear to be underwater. They are not white, but tinged.

The rough sea and the rolling of the ship looks superb... It will be a nice challenge landing a chopper in a storm like that.... rain on the windscreen would also be a very nice touch.

HP G2 Reverb (Needs upgrading), Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate. set to OpenXR, but Open XR tool kit disabled.

DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), DLSS setting is quality at 1.0. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC... Everything needs upgrading in this system!.

Vaicom user and what a superb freebie it is! Virpil Mongoose T50M3 base & Mongoose CM2 Grip (not set for dead stick), Virpil TCS collective with counterbalance kit (woof woof). Virpil Apache Grip (OMG). MFG pedals with damper upgrade. Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound... goodbye VRS.

Sorry if it was addressed before, but from my understanding, the Normandy Alpha release will also 'share' the NTTR map when you launch 2.1, correct? If so, does it mean that all the new lighting and other enhancements will be implemented in the NTTR map from day 1 of the release? Or they would still be updated separately as time goes on?

Posted (edited)

Nevada map will be updated also at the same Normandy map level.

We could always pretend it's North Africa, the Desert Fox vs Montgommery :)

Or do a alternate history approach where the Axis powers started taking over the US and Nellis was the front lines.

If Nellis is the front line then the U.S. is in sad shape, presuming Germany started on east coast.

No. When 1.5 and 2.1 are merged, to probably 2.5, 2.5 will include the re-work Caucasus map, plus the TF-51D Mustang and the Su-25T Frogfoot, all for free excited001smiley.gif

The NTTR map, the Normandy map, and all other future DLC maps will have to be purchased separately, and will be downloaded through the Module Manager.

Currently you can download and install DCS-World 2.1, but you will not be able to load any missions, unless you first buy the NTTR pre-release and install it through the ModMan. And then you will only be able to load missions on the NTTR map, as the Caucasus map is not included in DCS-World 2.1.

If you were one of the Kickstarter contributors, who contributed enough, if I understand it correctly, there is a special DCS-World version you can download with IIRC a specail pre-beta Normandy map pre-installed. But again, only for those few Kickstarter contributors.

Hence the alternative history approach. We really could do anything we want I was just taking a different angle for those WWII guys.

Maybe US troops found a star gate in Germany after the war and stashed it away at some secret location.

Now think about the Nazis on the moon, the technology and the implicit possibilities!

Not from the east coast. Not from the west coast. Not even from Mexico or Canada ... this time they come from GROOM LAKE! :alien:
