Long download . . . worth the wait! Figure servers are busy.

 

Looks awesome, did notice a couple of things.

 

Night looks fantastic, but it did seem to me, that smaller cities (though the lighting looked great) had a rectilinear box around them, without the soft hazing of light as it diffuses over distance. Attached image shows small town with light boxed along very discrete boundaries. See just below aircraft.

 

Plus unlit or cold aircraft with no power or light sources of their own, look oddly dark, and no ambient lighting or their own shadows cast - but I think this is already noted. However, awesome update for sure, and water looks very good.

 

Only flew A-10, started game from mission editor and from other menus. No issues on upgrade, starts up normally, loads differently maybe a tad slower, but not a huge difference.

 

 

Removed dark aircraft for bug report.

I had a loss of 25/35 FPS in big cities with SSLR turned off. If I turn on SSLR I will lose even more. I hope the performance is corrected. The graphics were very beautiful. The night was very beautiful. I disabled antivirus (kaspersky) to run DCS.

 

After downloading the 2.5.6 update a second time, the error appears again. I spent the entire day downloading the new update. Now he is asking to download again. I use Kaspersky antivirus.

Just flew a MP flight around Dubai, we started about 40mins before sun down and WOW! The whole lighting effect was amazing to say the least! The way the light and reflection changed seemingly every moment was really impressive :thumbup: In the Reverb is was just jaw dropping, a little less fps than I'm used too but I'm sure that will be ironed out and it came right around sundown. Overall a fantastic job ED!

Gives me an(0x000022) error when trying to start it up. Even after a repair :-/

 

EDIT:

 

 

OK, just found out, Kaspersky AV had deleted the "WorldGeneral.dll".

 

 

Put it under "exeptions" and DCS fired up again.

First impressions - the new lightning looks really promising, really amazing in some instances, but inconsistent and downright wrong in other regards. For example you can be flying in a very clear full moon night, then a few minutes before sunrise the night will be become pitch dark, and the transition looks wierd as hell. Then the sun comes up looks spectacular but the darkness is not a bit consistent with what you were seeing 10 minutes before.

Other lights including cockpit lights need some tweaking.

Some AI units seem bugged to hell at least on some missions.

guys, i've downloaded a lot of GB, but my steam version is stil 2.5.5 … i did something wrong or what ?

 

You have personally done nothing wrong. However, ED screwed the launch on the steam platform and reverted DCS back to version 2.5.5.

Trade optimization Vs awesome graphics and lighting isn't not good. VR IS become unflyable in medium, complex scenario. If I fly alone with a pair IA tanks and one manpad, VR run smoothly

I had no problems installing and running DCS 2.5.6. Seems anti virus and voice attack are causing issues. fps could be lower on some systems, but I didn't notice any slowdowns.

Windows 10 64bit, Intel i9-9900@5Ghz, 32 Gig RAM, MSI RTX 3080 TI, 2 TB SSD, 43" 2160p@1440p monitor.

@NineLine I believe that LLSR is always activated even in the OFF option. This would justify the drop in performance.

ED Team.. Thanks for this update... Amazing work.. If anyone is having problems with Kaspersky just set an exclusion for the DCS folder.

Not for me it isn't. FPS hit with it on, and back to normal when off.
