The AMRAAMer Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 I've been flying the hog for about 6 months now, but i've known how to fly it for about a year before i actually purchased it. I've pretty much mastered all the systems and procedures (except for aerial refueling and emergency procedures) and i'm pretty good in combat situations. But I've gotten bored playing on the 104th and flying standard DCS missions. Blue Flag isn't up for the Caucasus map right now, either. Any ideas/suggestions on how to freshen things up in the hog?
feefifofum Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 Have you looked into any of the single player payware content out there? Having a little more dynamic behavior and mission structure than "fly to waypoint A and shoot all the stationary targets there" can add a lot to the entertainment value. Check out The Enemy Within and/or Operation Piercing Fury. THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC
Shadow KT Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 Find some friends and play a co-op mission. Or one of those SP missions. the 104th style of missions are the worst..... just a deathmatch with targets 'Shadow' Everybody gotta be offended and take it personally now-a-days

williehayesjr Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Would you believe USMC Trev, would you believe there is such a thing as "different strokes for different folks." Some people are more prone to monotony than others; that does not mean the activity (or game) is not interesting any more. Maybe one needs to get a way for a while and upon returning, new found pleasures arises. Perhaps it is time to have a simulation which caters to both Air to Air and Air to Ground for other than Russian plans; hence F/A 18.

GazAce Posted November 10, 2017 Posted November 10, 2017 Hogs best thing since sliced bread I started with a crappy ole Saitek stick kb n mouse and now after a year or so and a total upgrade I still can't enough of my Hog. Hey Amm if you don't mind SP, try some awesome story driven campaigns.. Stone Shield, Enemy Within, Piercing Fury, Georgian Hammer, GH with CA , Red Flag in 2.1. Man they're all so good, mission by mission and they're a challenge too! Anyway just my 2 cents worth. GazAce Posted November 11, 2017 Posted November 11, 2017 (EL) my fav Hopefully someday ED will give the Warthog a little update. The exterior model could be a little nicer and the HMS could be added for starters. I only fly in the 23rd TFW England AFB (EL) skin, it looks so good and I'm not sure if it's actually real or not but I love it and whether in 2.1 or 1.5, I always choose that and I have my own call sign name on the exterior and the awesome Flying Tigers decal as well, so I'm really happy with it. sideshow Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 I’d suggest playing around with Inflight refueling. It’s frustrating as hell in the beginning, but rewarding once you get it down.

RIFLE_JTAC_TRAINING Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 WOW! Ive been using the A-10C since 2010 and Im always improving TTPs. Maybe some ideas to stir the pot of yours you could try out. JDAM loft delivery. Depends on the target and terrain in some cases but even on the line if I can get coordinates into the bomb, hit the deck at speed at around 1.5nm (if terrain and cover permits) I pull up and pickle when the jet allows me to and the bomb goes UP, acquires GPS and eventually the coordinates. I feel this gives me very little exposure to threats and is really fantastic if the enemy is being engaged from a different avenue. Again what blew my mind was seeing A-10s loft deliver rockets on a ZSU area thus "suppressing" the target and going straight in for guns on a different target. So what you are achieving here is moving the zsu so he is trying to hide himself buying you time to get some trigger time on a target and then egress. Not done in a while but I had a poor Mig-21 again on the line pop up infront of me while I was in the weeds, he was coming out of a canyon. I used a AGM-65D on the Mig once I got the nose of my aircraft on him. I dont train that but its cool to use it as a tool once in a blue moon. Hope that creates some stimulation there. 63 My CAS (Close air support) JTAC Channel: RIFLE - YouTube RIFLE's Discord: https://discord.gg/cmDCrr4Z2g Publications JTAC Bible (see/know chapter #5) https://fas.org/irp/doddir/dod/jp3_09_3.pdf J-FIRE pocket guide (Don't do battle without it!) frixon28 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 I've pretty much mastered all the systems and procedures (except for aerial refueling and emergency procedures) The answer is in the question, get on it! I must say aerial refueling is weird, after months of practice I can sometimes do it with maybe just 1 disconnect and the rest relatively smooth, other days its a mess
AMEDooley Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 (edited) I agree about getting the DLC campaigns as they are well worth the money. Enemy Within and OPF are hands down two of the best ones. The maple flag missions are great if you want to experience a close as we can get to training the real way in SP. Stone Shield is the last of the group, however it is still pretty good. The Red Flag campaign is awesome in 2.1 and I highly recommend that. As for MP, join a squadron if you can. There a few that fly constantly and have a ton of different mission set ups. I’m in one and it has been awesome! They’ve taken my flying to the next level. So there are things you can do to freshen the old girl up. And if none of those things work out for you, try a different platform. The M2K is outstanding, as is the F-5E. The latter is very overwhelming if you’re not used to flying older Jets. I got task saturated really fast in that jet for the longest time, but it made my flying skill a ton better. The Harriers about to be out and of course the Hornet will be out at some point in the future. So it’s really up to you. Edited November 22, 2017 by AMEDooley [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
splash Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 I would suggest you buying one or both of excellent Enemy Within or Operation Piercing Fury campaigns. They are very inmmersing and well built. I bought them in the last bonus sale and I'm currently flying TEW and enjoying a lot. 1

Ok nobody is saying it. But I'm sure everybody thinks it. You're an attention wh..iener. This community is just great. They all try to show you the bright side and motivate you. Just go and find another module, game, hobby, whatever. Why should somebody care what you can or what you're bored of?
