OttoPus Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Like the title says, it would be very, extremely useful a separate volume slider for the "helmet" sim volume. Since it's available in the sim, in cockpit I only use "hear like in helmet" feature, is very very cool and realistic. But very often for learning reasons ( or just for fun ) I have to switch from F1 visual to externals, and the volume difference just hurts my ears. Also when ejecting, the out of cockpit volume is so loud that I have to remove my headphones very fast to avoid hearing damages. Please, please please implement this feature. Thanks!

RED Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 When I remember correctly there is a slider for the volume. I use In Helmet, too. My solution to your problem was, to leave in helmet at 100% while setting all other audio option to about 20%.
bkthunder Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 When I remember correctly there is a slider for the volume. I use In Helmet, too. My solution to your problem was, to leave in helmet at 100% while setting all other audio option to about 20%. The problem with doing that, is you are also reducing the outside noise that you can hear inside the cockpit, so you won't be able to hear other aircraft next to you, or explosions etc. +1 on having separate controls for F2 view volume, and in-cockpit volume.
Gruw Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 Also when ejecting, the out of cockpit volume is so loud that I have to remove my headphones very fast to avoid hearing damages. THIS could be very dangerous. It is a topic already raised and I hope that ED will listen to our feedback. I hope the mixer will be completely revised, and therefore allow us to enjoy the amazing sound effects that this simulator offer. My teammates and I are doing ACM training by 5 months now and we often take advantage of the external views to analyze the maneuvers in real time. And taking advantage of the fact that the visibility of the aircraft in more condition has really improved a lot (really a great job on this). Everyone knows the difference in volume between the cockpit and exterior views and, unfortunately, this annoying thing is becoming also dangerous. So, +1 from my point of view, but I hope the rebuild from scratch.

epoch Posted February 9, 2018 Posted February 9, 2018 +1 The abrupt switch from cockpit internal to deafening external is indeed quite dangerous. Hopefully ED will take their duty of care towards their customers seriously and implement some changes to the audio engine.
