Quip Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 (edited) Hey. I just noticed I'm getting these artifacts which looks like the side panels are pixelated, with the VR Shaders. Yes I have tested with and without and they occur with the shaders only. And the effect is visible in VR too. I only took the screenshot in 2D because it's easier. I only see it on some textures and in some aircraft and under some specific lighting conditions only, mainly when it's dark. If you you look at the image you can see the effect on the side panels including the switches. But nothing on the center panel. Anyone else? Any work arounds? Edited February 11, 2021 by Quip

Since then i tried to optimize it, spent more time optimizing than flying. THANKS to all of you helping us with problems end questions and and and..... Now 1 question from my side Do we need to uninstall / reinstall the shaders-mod after or before every DCS update? speed-of-heat Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 If you read the original post, you will see I recommend using OvGme or modmanfx to install or uninstall mods. if you have installed it, by drag and drop it will need to be reinstalled ... but again it’s not what I recommend. It was just a drag-and-drop in Windows Explorer? all you have to do is update your sim when a new patch drops. The mod will get placed in a backup folder in the main directory (if you are like me and just drag/drop the shader mod into the main directory) and you just pull them out of the backup folder and reinstall them from there. If you use OVGME, then you just untick the box then retick it after the patch updates. 3 Intel 13900k @ 5.8ghz | 64gb GSkill Trident Z | MSI z790 Meg ACE | Zotac RTX4090 | Asus 1000w psu | Slaw RX Viper 2 pedals | VPForce Rhino/VKB MCE Ultimate + STECS Mk2 MAX / Virpil MongoosT50+ MongoosT50CM | Virpil TCS+/ AH64D grip/custom AH64D TEDAC | Samsung Odyssey G9 + Odyssey Ark | Next Level Racing Flight Seat Pro | WinWing F-18 MIPS | No more VR for this pilot. Avalanche110 Posted February 28, 2021 Posted February 28, 2021 Hello everyone. I have been a fan of this Mod for a longtime. I have noticed recently that it causes some canopy reflections at night (only in Gazelle) that make it unflyable at night. I am wondering if its possible to disable the shaders that effect the canopy glass. Thanks 1

Nealius Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 I'm having some trouble getting the NVG mask to give a monocle-style view. I have tried increasing the values all the way up to 5,000 but it still appears as full-screen in my headset. Strangely, the mask appears in the desktop mirror, but above a certain value it will not go small enough to replicate NVG monicles. I have tried asking in other threads that use these shaders as a base and have been blown off with standoffish non-answers. Is there a specific value range I need to stay within, or is there a secondary setting I need to change as well?
karpiyon Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 Is this good for the last version of DCS? I see all kind of errors related to shader in DCS.log.

Rens Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 I am new to DCS, I played around lately to optimize my FPS. I am using a GTX-1080. I was already searching for a new GPU. But noticed quickly that even the newest GPU still aren't able to run DCS in VR that well. I am going to give this mod a shot. It seems that it's created in 2018, and updated last year for the last time, correct? Or is there a other more recent version somwhere else maintained? Also, if this is such a boost for VR, why is this still not implemented by default in the game by ED as an "installable" from within the menu. Or why not by default by just enabling an extra checkbox under VR tab called "optimize textures/shaders for VR". Seems that this shouldn't be to hard to implement? Or is ED working on VR improvement themselves? Anyways I hope this mod helps otherwise the game is unplayable in VR for me. At least with my current GPU.
