@MAESTR0: let me know if you're interested in some acurate info about the ILS at Damascus RWY 05R. I can see from the screenshot that it has the standard DCS fibreglass glide path tower with a Sideband or Null-ref antenna system, while the actual system at 05R is a M-array Normarc system on a lattice mast.

 

 

Other than this minor nitpicking, the screenshots look great. Keep up the good work!

@MAESTR0 - Is the airfields list final? I noticed you are missing some - T4 and Shayrat for example.

 

The list of airfields is not final. T4 and Shayrat will be included in the map release.

That vans has Terrain objets maps by the TDK (terrain develop kits), similarly to the Normandy, caucasus or persian gulf map objets (as ships), non EDM vehicles, as normal DCS Work.

We see that you enjoyed the overview video of Damascus. And so we decided to add a small preview of some Syrian airfields into which you can fly. These are Aleppo Int, Palmyra and Mezze.

 

Aleppo International Airport (OSAP)

The airport used to serve as a secondary hub for Syrian Air - as Nairab Airbase. MiG-23 aircraft are deployed on it, according to some reports, it was used to supply military equipment from Russia and Iran in 2013.

Aleppo International Airport has a runway 09-27 of 3110 m length.

During the conflict, it was repeatedly captured by various parties to the conflict.

Located near the World Heritage Site - Palmyra

Palmyra airport has a runway 08-26 of 2880 m length.

Syrian Air Force Air Base, located in Mezzeh, Damascus, Syria, southwest of the old center of Damascus.

 

Wiki: In mid-2013 the airport was described by the BBC as "an important strategic installation [which] plays a significant role in distributing the government's military supplies." [2] Reuters reported in mid-2013 that it was "used by Syria's elite Republican Guards, Special Forces and Air Force Intelligence, [and] also serves as a private airport for the Assad family. "

 

Mezzeh Military Airport has a runway 06-24 of 2517 m length.

Su-22, MiG-19, MiG-21 and MiG-29 were based on this airfield at different times, and even the training and combat L39. All these aircraft are in the DCS arsenal and are available to our users.
