Don' t forget update will brake the mod so better to make it compatible with OvGME (for example)

So If I install it in saved game folder/mods/terrain/Caucasus/vfstextures/

 

Won't work? 

Specs: 13900k @ 5.5Ghz, 64GB @ 3600Mhz, 3080Ti.

These trees have been absolutely superb from the very first version and keep getting better with every update. 👌

One thing that bothers me though is the repetitive pattern seen from high altitude. Usually from 30k and above.

For some reason not seen with the default trees.

Is there any way to improve this in a future update?

When installing the tree mod into the latest version of the open beta it seems to be having issues with hangers, the textures show the camo "missing textures" when uninstalling the hanger textures return after running a repair. This is on the caucuses map.

anything I can do to stop this happening?

Got any terrain mod?  This mod doesn't touch hangars.

Hi Taz,

Looks like it could have been Bartheks terrain mod as he has just released a new version for the latest 2.8 beta so I'll give that a whirl first. 

As you say your mod shouldn't touch the Hangers, looks like I jumped to conclusions and made the wrong diagnoses. Sorry 🤪

@Taz1004 I have reqest is it possible.

Do you use Barthek textures for Caucasus? Im using Your mod and Barthek's mod from years. But is a one problem that Im not using winter period:

The problem is that I use snowless winter textures (OPTIONAL SNOWLESS WINTER for Caucasus released in the last year), mutch better and much better matched for this what we see in the last time bofore our windows

But togheter with your trees its a big problem because all trees are .... white, so it looks no sens. So I avoid winter like the plague in DCS on Caucasus map. also tested the use of autumn trees but they don't fit here, they are too brown and leafy. Can you do something about it? i.e. add alternative trees but not white, at the same time not as brown as the current autumn? Would they match the Snowless mod used by many?

Try to activate the mods on this order:

Caucasus redone -> Better trees -> Caucasus redone snowless winter

I originally wasn't going to do winter trees because default looked okay.  I did the snow covered trees at the request of some and to have an option.  You can simply delete files that says "winter" from my mod.

I did it, so removed (temporarily) all files with winter in the name, and now its ok! Thx.

I copied the summer trees to winter and it looks not too bad (using the dark version) for the snowless winter.  Love the mod by the way, makes such a difference!  

Is it possible to upload an extra dark version?  I think you previously mentioned you had tried this but were used to seeing the washed out trees.  I think a little darker than dark would look the most realistic. 😃

SA map is not available for trial.  I talked with Razbam on if there's way I can help but don't think it's possible.  They did say it'll be available for trial "soon" so we'll see.

Ok, Thank you. I have an idea about Razbam, I'll back with info to you if I'll recive something. Btw. map is nice and I like it.

Map SA has some problem with trees, I don't know if it's because there is a lot of variety or it's a matter of size. When I fly in VR on other maps, even without reprojection, I have 90 frames everywhere (or near 😉 ), and here above the ground it jerks like hell, and I'm talking about the area where there are only trees (forests), nothing more.

I do not understand developers do not PAY you for your work. So they do not even give you the map for fee so you can work for then for free? 

Taz, what you are doing here is great, and many map and module developers are VERY short sighted...

No mods for decent VR performance, no interes on even trying new maps for free for me...

Why should be try or buy something with much lower performance in VR?

I don't think giving away a module is entirely up to Razbam as I'm sure the revenue goes to both Razbam and ED.  I just thought there would be temporary license for beta testers but I guess not.

I'd purchase it if it was little less but $56 is price of a whole game and I'm not that interested in South Atlantic.  I actually haven't played any real mission on Syria yet either.  Plus I don't even have drive space for all the terrains.  I will have to uninstall Syria to install SA.

Taz legend....

There should be some kind of program for people like you that help improve ED and developers modules... If not paying you, at the very least providing you with everything (hw and sw) required for what you do.

Man, I know you do this without any economic objective, but you are improving the value of ED and the developers, and they should see this.
