Hi.

 

Just had a crash in Win8-mode. But its an "unsual", meaning maybe 5-10 min into a mission, so I dont think its related to the 2nd-mission-loading-crash.

I got a Discord-message, hit ESC, tabbed-out and did somting in the browser too. When I wanted to go back to DCS a few min later , DCS had crashed and I got the crash-send-box.

It is one of the high priority items at the moment. That is why Rik took a few volunteers to try and reproduce the crashes. Progress were made today. ED will keep you all posted.

As the title says I get DCS to crash everytime when I try to load mission for the second time, it doesn't have to be exact same mission. First time it will always load fine and work without issue

Honestly, this is beyond bearable now.  This bug is making DCS 2.7 pretty much unplayable for a lot of us. 4 weeks now.  Sorry about the negative post, but, please let's sort this out.

We have a lot of nVidia Users here. So would anybody so kind to try the following:

 

Go into the nVidia Control Panel. Go to "Sourround, PhysX" Menue. Switch the PhysX-Setting from "Auto" (which adresses the nVidia Card) to "CPU".

 

As long as I have PhysX bound to CPU, I haven't had a 2nd Load crash like before. As soon as I switch back to "Auto" oder "GPU", the crashes start all over again. I could switch the crashes on and off via this setting on my machine. That must not be true for anybody else. But I think it would be worth a few Tests.

 

Oh, and of course don't use the Compat. Mode while testing this as that wouldn't be the same.

 

If the new Clouds use some kind of PhysX, that would make sense. At least for nVidia Users. Sorry that I can't test on AMD Hardware as I sold my Vega 64 a few months ago...

Very interesting. im going to test it too.

 

Update : I test it right now and with PhysX settings sets to CPU and i crashed after first Shift+R in the DCS.

Is PhysX still a thing? 😐

 

@Wali763Your crash is of the "DXGI_EROR_DEVICE_REMOVED" kind. Ensure you GPU is not overclocked too much, or if you don't OC, ensure your graphics driver is alright.

In my case, the 2nd mission load crashes are more frequent now. Since my last Windows update 19043.985 (Windows 10, Version 21H1), the crashes have come up much more frequently than before. While before the Windows update there was a crash with every second or third 2nd mission load, it is now after every 2nd mission load. Unfortunately, crashes in the ME occur now when loading a missions for the first time, not always but often.

Last night my nvidea drivers updated, but after a short test this afternoon it appears they don't affect the crashes in any way.

Holy crap ! 6 crashes back to back within 30-40 mins. one after another.

This entire issue is bizarre, especially since no one in a position to help seems able to reproduce it. What do we all have in common that makes us the ones experiencing this issue? Is it the color of our eyes? Mine are blue.

 

More seriously, could it be how we installed Win10? As an upgrade of an earlier Windows version? Or a completely new install? I think mine’s a fresh install. But that was awhile ago.

 

I just wish someone could figure this out. None of the usual suspects seem to be the culprit.

Hi there.

Same on me, crashing when I load same mission for second time. It's happening to me since the first 2.7 update.

I haven't written here because I always thought my crashes are similar to the others, but this time I'm gonna attach my log, just in case.

Fresh install of windows just a month ago. Pagefile of 32768 on each drive (tried just only one with same results).

@Ironhand we got "similar" config too. Core i7-4790K GTX 1050Ti 32GB RAM Samsung 1Tb SSD
