Note that in any case, MiG-29 was supposed to come after BS3. Given the relatively raw state BS3 is in, the political situation might very well change before it's done.

Personally Id like to see (full modules) Su-24, Su-25 as well. Maybe they have agreement to made addons to "перестройка" time (so if the plane was produced only to 1991). However what about BS3.... hard to tell.

Well, the post 91 mods to those would be "russian". i.e. any sort of new RWR/Radar/IRST/engines etc.

Pretty sure I've said this before, but the only thing that equals my anticipation for a good Su-17M4 or at least Su-22M4 is the F-4E.

One we're getting, the other I'd love to get confirmed 🙂

This is the great unknown. Note that so far there has been no official information about this from OctopusG side. On the his desk is La-7 now.

I just wanna say. The OctupusG cockpit is remarcable different than the other Su-22 side project... no comparison. OctupusG is not really open for updates but after see how he made a lot of progress in La-7, then is valid to say he is solid working in his Su-17 soviet version.

I honestly hope we here some more on this project in the next 6 months, the Su-22 if it is indeed to become a module. Will with out a doubt be one of the most important cold war modules for redfor going forward. A FF soviet attacker is a MUST HAVE!

It looks like Su-22M4 "early". We had several of them. They were without system for TV-guided weapons.

the TV and other panels were removable on the M4...

There were panels for SEAD stuff, or TV guided etc. Those two silver looking "things" below the modern radio were how they were mounted.

Su-17/22M4 was fully multitasking variant, there is no specified versions like M4R or M4P, aircrafts were wired for all equipment, only depending on tasks, pod with recce or SEAD equipment can be hang under fuselage or wings and some panels inside cockpit need to be changed.

Here we go, photo of Soviet and East German aircrafts with KKR pod, under front part of fuselage you can see (red arrow) antennas which were used for programming SEAD missile's guindance head before launch. Of course aircraft cannot use KKR pod and SEAD pod at the same time.

Su-17M4 from first serial aircraft was able use TV guided weapon and had TV monitor fiited in the cockpit, export Su-22M4 had simmilar capability from 30th production series, before that in place of monitor was mounted a dummy panel.

Warsaw Pact countries were training nuclear attack very often with use of IAB-500 imitation bomb. 17/22M4 never carried RN-24 nuke, only RN-28 on the beginning and after her withdrawn from use in mid 80's there were RN-40 and RN-42. Every Su-22M4 was able drop a nuclear bomb, place of service wasn't important, aircraft had weapon computer with several modes, toss mode can be used for any type of free fall bombs not only nuclear one, everything what is needed is a input of ballistic values into computer memory. Only special type of equipment required for A bomb were special "nuclear" BD3-56FHM pylons, rest of weapon system is standard for all types of bombs.
