First test of DLAA: SUPER impressed!!!!!!!!!! No more shimmering of trees, power lines, water and possibly clouds! Looks soo good and even better FPS than before. Didn't drop below 40 FPS on Mariannas flying low over the city. Now let's test DLSS 🙂

Keep getting server errors.  Since there's nothing in the patch notes that I wasn't able to live without for the past six or seven years I suspect I can continue to live without them for the next six or seven days. 

I'll just try again later.

has some 504 errors... server crash.

An active Radar system emits a lot of heat. You can probably see the nose of fighters heat up on the flir image. (guessing)

did you test it with classic beta or multi-thread beta ?

Okay so since there is no AA setting in DLSS mode, AA doesn't look that good even at best quality setting.

Especially for moving objects like the radar sweep line, but also distant objects, there is no AA at all it seems like. Do I need to set it in the NVIDIA settings?

 

FPS are great though, now i didn't drop below 50 FPS.

DLAA is part of DLSS..

Yup I bought myself a new NVMe drive as well since I was running out of disk space with multiple games installed. Now I'll be ok for quite a while: I have an entire partition dedicated to DCS.

@BIGNEWY  did u lads re-size Syria map and make it smaller ?  I had some template units (100's of them)  near the edge of the syria map that have now went "off map" ?

I was getting stuck on the Syria textures files during the update which was causing it to lose server connection every time. I repaired, then restarted DL. So far so good. Went from 5mb/s to 60mb/s

Are they still there in-game? In my experience actual flyable space is larger than what the F10 map shows. Perhaps they simple adjusted the drawn map size without affecting the area proper?

Yes and no. You can‘t use DLAA and DLSS simultaneously. They are two mutual exclusive features of the Deep Learning technology from Nvidia.

One aims to improve performance for the sacrifice of fidelity and the other does the exact opposite.

Yeah I meant when DLSS is turned on it uses the same type of anti aliasing technique. From what I read at least.

Well okay, but somehow you can also only choose DLAA without DLSS in DCS settings. There seems to be a problem with the radar screen antialiasing, the sweep line should be solid and not dashed. Note how the picture also gets very milky when you look in the distant (LOD is maximum). I don't really like that. A lot of testing with different settings necessary it seems like. But the performance upgrade is superb and everything in general looks much better, especially at closer distance! Great update!

See my comments about DLAA. 

Fine moving details are the weak spot of DLSS. That was expected (imho). There have to be some sacrifice for better fps. 

Maybe it will improve on the future. It is WIP after all.

I wrote about it earlier, compression always affects the quality, unfortunately, either you get more FPS and a worse image, or you stick with the native one, the same happened with DLSS and MSFS. Unfortunately, this is some kind of compromise.

I'm a bit weak on my DLSS tech. Is it simply on or off or can you have a percentage and find a balance between performance and graphics?

You have a choose 4 different settings between performance and quality.

@BIGNEWY Has MT become standard exec with 2.9? I'm asking, because even though I don't see it mentioned in patch notes, when game's launched from "normal" ST desktop shortcut, the menu screen says "MT preview 2.9.xxxx".

On the other hand I can see both execs (in Bin and Bin-MT) are still slightly different in size.
