Moxica Posted January 1, 2024 Posted January 1, 2024 (edited) Current DLSS is the nvngx_dlss.dll version 3.5.0.0 in DCS There is a new version 3.5.10, and I just tried it; It is no revolution, but it makes for some improvements on ghosting. Or.. ghosting turns out a little different. If you like it, you keep it. If not, keep the old one. It is in the bin, and the bin-mt folder. skywalker22 Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 I don't use DLSS. Upscaling is OFF and Anti-Alising is set to MSAA. Works like charm for now. 2

Hiob Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 Neat way to compare both of them back and forth btw. Learning about mod-managers was one of the biggest game changers in DCS for me. It’s just so handy. Definitely will try the DLSS update, too. 2 "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"

Hiob Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 (edited) I‘m pretty sure, the devs have any development around DLSS in STT. The only reason they need time for this is probably that, other than us, they can‘t just eyeball it and say „fook it, let‘s try!“ Edited January 2, 2024 by Hiob "Muß ich denn jedes Mal, wenn ich sauge oder saugblase den Schlauchstecker in die Schlauchnut schieben?"
Valium Posted January 2, 2024 Posted January 2, 2024 Yes! It works. No more ghosting on HUD and knobs with DLAA 3 1 Click here to see more pictures of Polish Air Force! Check also my album.

WolfTangoFox Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 Don't know if it's GPU dependent, but on my end I still get plenty of ghosting. Perhaps it's slightly different, but there nonetheless. Oh well, back to MSAA.

WolfTangoFox Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 Just now, Hiob said: Are you using DLSS or only DLAA? What's your fps (roughly)? Tried both DLSS and DLAA, looks the same in terms of ghosting. Didn't investigate much further so didn't bother looking at FPS, didn't have head tracking enabled either. Just twisted some dials and switched screens on a static aircraft. So can't really give you any numbers on that. 1
Hiob Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 I'm just asking, because the ghosting in general seem to get better with higher fps and worse with lower fps. But that's just an observation of mine. Can't really back it up. I was just interested in more data points. TheCoyoteHunter Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 Rtx 3060 / i7-11700 here, my testing... I get much less ghosting with the new version, much less. I'll say as much as 75% less. I'm on 1080p and DLSS on Quality still makes ground textures a little bit more blurry than I like. With DLAA only in this new version I get 30 FPS more than with MSAA X4, with only marginally worse textures. But the flickering/shimmering is gone with DLAA. I hope this is a sign of things to come, this newer version is a great improvement even with DLAA only. 1 "The problem with internet quotes is it is very hard to determine their authenticity." --Abraham Lincoln DCS: FC3, FA-18C Hornet, Supercarrier, P-51D Mustang, F-5E Tiger II, A-10C II Tank Killer, Persian Gulf, The Channel, Normandy 2.0, WWII Assets Pack.

Valium Posted January 3, 2024 Posted January 3, 2024 (edited) I would say it's even look better now. And works good. As someone said, 75% ghosting dissappeared with DLAA. RTX 3080 - that's mine and maybe here's the cause which makes that some of us didn't see the difference. Perhaps with 4th gen there's no difference. Hiob Posted January 4, 2024 Posted January 4, 2024 From A-B testing yesterday, I can't say I really see a difference in visual quality. (Just tested DLAA, no DLSS). But due to high fps (courtesy of a 4090), DLAA looked good beforehand an ghosting was limited to position lights in low light conditions in the first place. But I didn't see any negative effects either - so if it helps in the low to mid range and doesn't hurt anywhere else, I'd call it an improvement. On a Ryzen 9 5950X, 3080, 64GB DDR4, I didn't notice a bit of difference between the old and new versions of DLSS. I really haven't had problems with ghosting though, so maybe it's only impacting systems that had ghosting issues. 1
