ED Team NineLine Posted January 6, 2024 ED Team Posted January 6, 2024 DCS: Marianas World War II To support the DCS: F6F Hellcat and other PTO aircraft and units coming to DCS, we have been adapting the current Marianas for the past year and into 2024. The map is based on painstakingly researched documents, photos, and accounts of the Mariana Islands in the summer of 1944, at the time of the Battle of the Marianas between the United States and Imperial Japan. This will be a free map that leverages our latest TDK for improved performance and realism. 18 16 Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Slippa Posted January 7, 2024 Posted January 7, 2024 Great. Thanks to everyone that’s put the work in, something to look forward to. 2 1
toni Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 At a given time, doing the same with Hawai islands, could be interesting as a DLC map 2
DD_Fenrir Posted February 2, 2024 Posted February 2, 2024 10 minutes ago, toni said: At a given time, doing the same with Hawai islands, could be interesting as a DLC map Meh: a WW2 map with zero appropriate aircraft and valid for one day out of a war that lasted 2,194. Philippines, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, all much better candidates for the aircraft we are soon to get with far more scope for campaigning. 7
king1hw Posted February 9, 2024 Posted February 9, 2024 Could do a Large map because most of it is the Pacific... 4

NIAGARA MOHAWK Posted July 12, 2024 Posted July 12, 2024 so the last update 2.9.6 was pretty big with all kinds of fixes and such for the Fancy Jet Jockey's .. how about something for the WWII crowd ? we spend $$$ too .. some info / pics / idea of release date of Marianas World War II / F6F would be really nice .... what's the point of keeping us in the dark ??? could be considered abuse of the elderly ?? we don't have forever to wait ?? come on throw a bone or two .... not getting any younger here !!!!... 9 1
NIAGARA MOHAWK Posted July 18, 2024 Posted July 18, 2024 Last official update on the WWII Mariana's or F6F was April 12 th .. and here on the 17th on the official 12 th update it said == More Details coming SOON .. PS : in case you were wondering ? = 3 plus months and counting to unknown date is -NOT- Soon .... 2
Ala13_ManOWar Posted July 26, 2024 Posted July 26, 2024 In that last there were things for the WWII crowd, it was just the changelog didn't list them . There was a Fw190A cockpit textures revamp, by the way. Maybe some of the new map tech in Marianas WWII needs the new engine? Dunno. Hope we get to know something about Marianas (and all the stuff around Pacific...) sooner than later. 3 "I went into the British Army believing that if you want peace you must prepare for war. razer668 Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 I would be happy about an aircraft carrier of that time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiyō-class_aircraft_carrier 1
Stratos Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 (edited) Is this map planned for a 2024 release? Seems pretty complete on the pics. But we don't know the included airfields. Edited September 26, 2024 by Stratos 6 I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!

ESA_maligno Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 Greetings. How is the project going, do we have any news or has it been left in the dry dock? 3

Slippa Posted October 19, 2024 Posted October 19, 2024 News is that there’s work being done so they can offer another desert map which we can buy as a whole or in two parts. Some of the choices being made would make realistic re-enactment scenarios unfeasible but it’s early days so who knows. Many pieces of the jigsaw they’re putting together don’t make a lot of sense as usual but once we’ve paid our money they can have the team look into any queries and we can jog on. Work continues on the Marianas WWII and the Hellcat. (I hope). It’s very quiet work and must be done with the strictest confidentiality. As such, we don’t hear a dickie-bird. A bit like the odd jobs around the place that I’m busily working on. Mrs Slippa is out working this morning and as far as she’s concerned I’m very very busy with a bit of hoovering. I’m just waiting for the INS to align then I’ll get my head down and my arse up. I might take the hoover off the wall and send a couple of shots showing a glimpse of the power lead and plug, maybe the nozzle, just to warm her cockles. If I get any questions back I’ll pass them on to ‘the team’ but I’m very very busy so when I can tell her more I’ll be sure to let her know. I’ll thank her for her interest and will likely get a lump on the back of my head when she gets home. Come on, can we have our Hellcat now please? 3 2
Convoy Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 My guess is that it's "mostly" done, and waiting on the F6F so they can release together. Since Pacific theater units are pretty much non existent in DCS, I'm assuming there's the map, ships, land based units, planes, etc to make. WW2 Marianas map would be useless without ships to sail on it, planes to fly from them, and units to fight. 1
Nealius Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 We technically do have one model of Mustang that was in the Pacific. I forget the NA number but it's the one with dual antennae. 2

I can't believe a few islands with a few buildings takes longer than giving us Afghanistan and Iraq. Maybe they're really just waiting for everything to be ready, map, modules, assets. Pure speculation, but maybe the Corsair is waiting to be part of this package too? Anyhow if this is the case I quite disagree, I'd prefer to have the modules as they are ready. We can practice flying the Hellcat on different maps to be ready for the WW2 Marianas when it comes. Or, I'd be happy to explore the WW2 Marianas in a P-47 waiting for the Hellcat to come. I remember the times when all I could do in a P-51 was shooting Doras over Novorossiysk, and DCS still became my favorite WW2 sim then and there. 17 1 Facebook Instagram YouTube Discord
