Its not the size of CH-47F, you will download it with the separate process.

Are you sure? I dont think so, maybe your windows update needs it but not DCS.

For me the dcs updater also asked me to restart my pc after it was done, it was definitely not a windows prompt but one by the dcs updater

Went to purchase, not on Steam. Neither is the new UH-1H campaign.

think that campaign is a new one thats a freebie. its not for sale in the shop, so I would check to see if its already installed. Ill check in and report back if nobody else does.

I believe some missing Visual C++ runtimes could cause issues with certain modules. The updater now makes sure these are installed, and their installer may in turn require a reboot.

in the 7 years or so I've been playing DCS this is the first time a module I've wanted hasn't been available on Steam pretty much immediately. Same for the update. They usually land at the same time so this is unusual in my experience, saying that so is a patch late on a Friday night.

I have noticed the CH-47 has a page on Steam now which it didn't when I looked at about 9pm but can only add to wishlist at the moment so assuming the patch hasn't released yet either.
