Cepheus76 Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Just a small request: If I understand correctly, the fuzes are set in the mission editor and the entries made in the aircraft must match these settings, so that the fire control computer (or whatever is doing these calculations) can determine the correct release solution etc. Would it be possible that a kneeboard page with the fuze settings chosen in the ME is automatically generated as a reference, much like the one with particulars of the Super Carrier in the Hornet? I guess that would make many a virtual pilots' life much easier
Tango3B Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 So, I think we can say that it was apparently worth waiting a day for the patch. Today's patch went absolutely smoothly and what is most important in my opinion is that we have really good download rates today. Kudos to ED. And although today the focus is of course on the Phantom...also big praise for the small but important updates for the F-5E. What else can I say...happy Patch Day everyone and have fun with the F-4. 4

Don't plan to buy the Phantom right now, just wanted to wait how VR performance turns out. But you can place AI phantoms with all the skins in ME, even if you don't own the module, I forgot about that. So between 30 & 50 gigs for me I suppose. Marnes23 Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 My download was 51 GB according to the downloader but once it reached the 51 GB mark it carried on downloading changing from size downloaded to percentage Once it reached 150% downloaded I stopped the download and restarted the updater, now it shows a 170 GB download Very strange but who knows how these things work
Kayos Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Why are updates so slow these days? My God [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Johnny Dioxin Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 huh? Mine was faster than I've ever had! I assume that the size of the download includes replacement files so does not necessarily mean that the final size of the DCS folder will increase by the size of the download. Correct. If 1 line of code needs to be changed in a 50GB file it means you'll have to download 50GB even though the total size of the folder after download will only be a few bytes more This is obviously an extreme example but it gets the point across. 1 1 Spoiler Ryzen 7 9800X3D | 96GB G.Skill Ripjaws M5 Neo DDR5-6000 | Asus ProArt RTX 4080 Super | ASUS ROG Strix X870E-E GAMING | Samsung 990Pro 2TB + 990Pro 4TB NMVe | VR: Varjo Aero VPC MT-50CM2 grip on VPForce Rhino with Z-curve extension | VPC CM3 throttle | VPC CP2 + 3 | FSSB R3L | VPC Rotor TCS Plus base with SharKa-50 grip | Everything mounted on Monstertech MFC-1 | VPC R1-Falcon pedals with damper | Pro Flight Trainer Puma OpenXR | PD 1.0 | 100% render resolution | DCS graphics settings Win11 Pro 24H2 - VBS/HAGS/Game Mode ON

AKULA_OPTIMUS Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 About the Massun Asset Pack, were not the personnel models included? Its a shame, because all the models we have are from the navy and supercarrier, It would have been nice to have some air force personnel to put in our missions, they can even move and make signals (the ones from the mod), why werent the included?

Vakarian Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 I noticed something when I went to bind my controls for the Phantom. There were no prebound axes except Warthog throttle axes and they were correct @BIGNEWY or @NineLine Do you know if this was intentional DCS core change (something that was requested numerous times) or was it something HB forced on their end? I would be really happy to hear that this was DCS core change and I'm sure there are a lot of others who would be as well. 1
PLUTON Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Very nice update, a big thank you to you ED Everything is good going from downloading to discovering the treasures of the content, this patch is a great gift so thank you again. The F18 & F 16 pilots are great, the visors work too bad that they do not darken the image it is the same lowering or raising. Is it expected that they will be like on the F15 or the Gazelle that the visors actually tint? That would be great. Thank you ED and well done to the whole team 1
Beirut Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Just back from work and updating prior to getting the Phantom. Is it possible the update is 120GB? That what it looks like. Some of the planes, but all of the maps!

If you checked your dcs install before and after the update. I'm guessing it only increased 10-20gigs at most. 1 i7 13700k @5.2ghz, GTX 5090 OC, 128Gig ram 4800mhz DDR5, M2 drive.

I tried to answer in the other thread but is locked regarding performance anyhow for me but not in VR at the moment the kola map is much better performance than Persian gulf map and that's a fast map in VR so make of that what you will but feels good. 1

Pretty sure I posted a week or two about about being at about 600. I have no idea what's what, but... Edit: just checked my post, I was at 691. Not 600. So you were right. Thanks. F-4 at least was 22Mbps. It isn't slow for my connection - and in fact it's the fastest transfer rate I've had from any server anywhere - so not exactly indicating a problem. Used to be considerably slower a couple of years back, but since 2.7 at least it has used the maximum my fibre to the cabinet line can manage. Call a spade a spade. Just because your line is capable of higher speeds - just like mine it has to deal with the fastest the various lines and junctions along the way can give it - doesn't mean if something isn't at the maximum you could possibly get that it's broken. Don't you download from othe rplaces? It's the same, regardless. In fact it's the fastest transfer rate for large updates for any flight sim I've seen. But I won't argue - if you want to rant, that's up to you.
