ED Team Graphics Posted January 17 ED Team Posted January 17 17 January 2025 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, Our traditional yearly showcase of what’s on the horizon is out at last. Check out the video, we hope you will enjoy it. Thank you! Watch now! We have prepared a tire-strut suspension modelling white paper that focuses on the current development of our advanced tire and suspension physics. Our aim is to improve a far more realistic look and feel and deliver a more true to life taxi, takeoff and landing experience. The winners of the DCS: Mi-24P Hind livery competition are in! We are pleased to present you with 3 winners and 8 runners up. Check out the details below. Thank you to all participants, we look forward to seeing you in the next one. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics 2025 and Beyond A Look Ahead 2025 promises to be a busy and exciting year for Eagle Dynamics, with the continued improvement of DCS Core, the enhancement of existing modules, and the launch of new and valuable products. Along with our 3rd party affiliates, we aim to elevate DCS to new heights and we hope that this video offers a good glimpse into some of the exciting things we are up to. While several of the products featured will be released in 2025, the video also focuses on our development priorities and objectives, many of which such as Dynamic Campaign, have been in the works for far longer than planned, draining more resources than expected, and sometimes creating frustration for many. This seems to be a constant with technology and engineering projects the world over and ‘par for the course’. But as we push the envelope and seek to achieve ever higher levels of realism and authenticity, we promise to do our very best to meet your expectations. Thank you for standing with us and for helping us improve and grow DCS, and thank you for your understanding and support as we move onwards and upwards. Landing Gear Modelling Development Progress Previously relying on a simplified single-component system, our team has transitioned to a two-component model (strut and tire), solving complex second-order nonlinear differential equations to replicate real-world suspension behavior. The new model supports various suspension types, such as oleo-pneumatic, rubber stack, and spring-oleo systems, allowing high-precision tuning using drop-test data. A specialized tool was developed to simulate drop tests, ensuring accuracy in energy absorption, displacement, and force metrics. Tests based on real-world Mi-38 helicopters and WWII-era Bf-109E warbird undercarriage performance demonstrate the model's versatility when compared to similar aircraft in DCS (the Mi-8 and Bf-109K-4), even when dealing with conflicting reference data. These advancements allow for realistic suspension behavior across multiple aircraft types, enhancing the overall flight model fidelity. Please read about the extensive development process behind the new suspension model in the Tire Strut Suspension Modelling white paper. Mi-24P Hind Livery competition Please join us in congratulating the winners of the Mi-24P Hind Livery Competition! While our original plan was to select just three winners, the outstanding quality of so many submissions has led us to include more. MAXsenna Posted January 17 Posted January 17 (edited) Honestly, I was expecting a little more today. The video was awesome and absolutely beautiful! Edited January 17 by MAXsenna 6
Beirut Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Well, if the tire pressure is happy, I guess I'm happy too. Good video this year. 5 Some of the planes, but all of the maps!

Guess the DC is not ready. Maybe Christmas? The heavy focus on the Typhoon begs the question. No pre-orders yet though. Lack of WWII showcased makes me a little puzzled, while if the WWII verso on of the Marianas drops, we could be looking at Corsair AND the Hellcat. I'd say a safe bet could be AI Draken, Soviet tank and running soldiers. The MiG-29, the C-130 and the Germany map. Thoughts? Edited January 17 by MAXsenna 2
CommandT Posted January 17 Posted January 17 (edited) Very surprised that this Newsletter didn't go into at least some detail on the stuff we saw in the video, especially a development overview and status of the Dynamic Campaign Engine, AI improvements, Vulkan, EF2000 ect? Or are we getting an overview of the current status of DCS in another newsletter soon? Edited January 17 by CommandT 9

Tom Kazansky Posted January 17 Posted January 17 (edited) FF F-15C Eagle. Thank you ED! Great news. Germany map (by Ugra Media?!) is a no brainer, too for me. F-35A is gonna be an interesting journey to unknown territory. I will keep a critical eye on it, but most probably from an owner's point of view. I have a lots of "When?"s here. But you will share news as soon as there are news.... I know and I keep looking forward to that. Edited January 19 by Tom Kazansky bad typo 3

This year: C-130, La-7, Mig-29, and probably (part of) Germany since maps seem to be coming out fast and furious. 2 Some of the planes, but all of the maps!
JD Posted January 17 Posted January 17 I thought you will publish more detailed newsletter about current progress and plans for 2025, just like you did before 3
otaolive Posted January 17 Posted January 17 I was expecting that ED could explain how an F-35 would be done, for me the future of DCS are changing for a less realistic models ... 4 :pilotfly: :joystick:

Bucic Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Thus is big! You should have hinted it in the beyond video. Maybe that unrealistic roll-bouncing on takeoff for fighters is going to go away. 2 F-5E simpit cockpit dimensions and flight controls Kill the Bloom - shader glow mod Poor audio Doppler effect in DCS [bug] Trees - huge performance hit especially up close
falcon_120 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 I was also expecting a bit more on today's newsletter, specially if there is at last any ETA on the DC or of those modules showed in more detail (EFA/C130).Enviado desde mi ELE-L29 mediante Tapatalk 1
bies Posted January 17 Posted January 17 (edited) Great trailer! Thanks for the light grey fighter Eagle Please include also original 1985 F-15C MSIP II from late Cold War, Desert Storm and Balkan War - as additional variant or an option in editor. It will unlock additional 20 years of F-15C career from 1985 to 2005. And it will be usefull over Fulda Gap map, Iraq Desert Storm, and it will be a counterpart for all late Cold War modules like MiG-29 9.12, Tornado IDS, Tomcat, Su-17, MiG-21bis, A-6, A-7, Bo-105, Mi-24P, Mirage F.1, Kfir etc. Cockpits are identical, just lacked a few addons like Link-16, JHMCS, AIM-9X integration. cheers Edited January 17 by bies 4

foxbat155 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Quote from tire-strut suspension model development report: "As an example of the model’s accuracy, the main wheel of the Mi-38 (a variant of the Mi-8) was taken as a reference." Mi-38 a variant of Mi-8?. Are you serious guys?. This level of accuracy reveals a complete lack of accuracy.....

rfxcasey Posted January 17 Posted January 17 With all the attention to the ground war in the vid I'm wondering if they're not hinting at a long overdue update to Combined Arms. Also, Is that a Naval Phantom wing in one of those shots? 1
Benom8 Posted January 17 Posted January 17 Well done to the Hind livery winners! I need to up my game
