Stunning all-round.

One small thing though:
In the Hamburg vid there's some odd clipping of the container cranes that have their arms up at about 10-12 seconds in (the ones down are ok).
At about 80 degrees to the aircraft, they just disappear...
Noticed that too!

Always was..... (imho). Syria tops all other current maps by far.

Hamburg Airport (ICAO: EDDH / IATA: HAM) - everything about this city reminds me of food 🤔😁)
The airport opened in January 1911, making it the oldest international airport in the world that is still in operation.

And now we'll move to ➡️ East Germany  The capitalists will be watching this place, finishing their 🍔 and looking for communist blips on their radars, and the communists will be watching the capitalists. One mistake and in a moment a group of MiGs will be in the air.

Garz (The callsign was GESETZ)
Airfield of the East German Air Force. It was used for the temporary deployment of wings with construction measures at the home airfields. It was also used by the East German Interflug airlines as "Heringsdorf" A beautiful takeoff/landing over the sea is guaranteed.

Hamburg in the 1980s ... before the big train stations were built ... like Dammtor at the base of the TV tower ...

The tour through the city looks really great!   But the train stuff could be a little bit improved in future updates. Trains and their lines and stations were and are always infrastructure targets and - also very important - the big stations are recognizable landmarks for setting up initial points for air strikes.

Don't get me wrong, the town is impressive.

Thank You and Your team for this great work, @MAESTR0!

Tbh, Altona, Dammtor and Holstenstrasse along with Hauptbahnhof where big stations with vaulted, rounded roofs: they were built for steam locomotives, as the rails north of Hamburg weren’t electrified until the late 60’s. I remember standing awestruck (and a little frightened) when my grandmother took me to Altona station to pick up me grandpa, and I stood in front of this hissing, ticking machine. Then I knew what a dragon would look like.

So, no Köhlbrandbrücke, no classic train stations. But the Michel, Rathaus and Nikolai-Kirche look jawdroppingly good, even though theMönkebergstrasse looks a bit timid, and Binnen- and Aussenalster look positively strange. I’m really looking forward to the full product. Wondering if the Dom (free place) and Bunker will make into the map.

Maybe @MAESTR0 could show Pferdsfeld AB next time?

Supposedly the most scenic airfield of the Luftwaffe - Sabres(JG 73, JaboG 42), G.91Rs (LeKG 42) and F-4Fs (JaboG 35) were based there. Same unit-heritage.

JaboG 35 was later re-re-renamed JG 73, moved to Laage (fmr East Germany) and joined up with the MiG-29s.

This is a TV documentary about the 1977 TACEVAL at Pferdsfeld (JaboG 35).

A lot of users have passionate memories of the Cold War Steam Trains.

Please ED you need to fix the arg8 so the wheels can rotate again.

Its a Real Shame to be limited and not use the broken ones on fantastic new maps like this.

Please update with a fix and let users have some fun again with the old ww2 class 86.

Its Very Sad as I have built exciting mods of german steam locomotives but have to use old Caucasus Map and the DCS old SingleThread Version to even use them.

Make it happen please -

Since i wrote this there is now an update coming for the arg8 so a massive thankyou for that !

Ugra has a solid rep and I have no issue pre-ordering with them. They put out fantastic updates for the Syria map. They definitely have street cred. 😉

The last steam locos in West Germany were withdrawn 1972 ... From then only electric and diesel power, so that should be the way on this 1980s map.

More important are the correct buildings/stations (infrastructure) and routes (logistic tagets).

Who cares if its 1970s or 1980s it would be same buildings anyway - if you like the steam trains just use them to add some interest.

After all for Me its about getting the " DCS Train wheels moving " and being able to enjoy the New Germany Map with the Steam Train mods i have already built.

Steam trains were used during the Cold war time period so that suits Me.

I am actually worrying about when we would get an authentic/normal looking map-object-glass-material for rendering (.REF models/packages) what is transparent but slightly shiny.(something similar to what .EDM models use)

I see that this glass-material is completely missing from the screenshots (and from the current map-object-3D-models on/of other maps),

such as the windshields of the vehicles, the windows of the hangars and control towers, for example.

@Maestro  The static aircraft that you use in your scenery look very good. Even better than the civil aircraft mod that we’ve had available for many years. I hope you please consider adding these as a functional AI assets pack. Having these as an official part of the game would make for some very strong mission options for our campaigns.

Ugra can't fix it. You have to harass ED about it, and not here.

Yes, this, but they shouldn't make ones for the buildings that are empty inside.

@MAESTR0 once again incredible pictures, thank you very much. Since Redfor has always been underrepresented in DCS so far (and will probably remain so in the future) please post some screenshots of Damgarten Arfield when we are already in the north. The first MiG-29A of the 16th Air Army of the Soviet Union had been stationed outside the USSR. @MAESTR0 additional question: will Oranienburg Airfield not be on the map, on Wag's list s was not mentioned, although Phase 1 territory

You are right, I am with You completely. The 1950s/1960s were Cold War era, too, and all the nice VW microbuses racing through the streets of Hamburg were built from 1950 onwards. So they still fit if we fly the map with F-86s and F-100s and MiG-17s and MiG-19s and so on.

The Hamburg airport previews show it perfectly, again, there's just way too many dirt patches all around. This is supposed to be northern European grassland, not Siberian tundra! You continue to build all these nice looking airports but all of them with the wrong type of ground textures. It's just not what Germany looks like.

I don't want to be a pain in the butt, just thinking that when you build it all like this, in the end you'll say "sorry we can't change that now, too much work", and that would be a real shame.

I would really like these planes to appear at least as static objects that you can place yourself in the mission editor.
