1 YEAR for a 3D cockpit. Man I wish I had that kind of time to create assets at my job. No wonder things are taking as long as they are. I can't even imagine how long Nevada will take on that time frame.

 

That is not true.It is not 1 year for a 3D cockpit,is for much much more.They are doing P51D,Combined arms,new patches for DCS:World and developing FC3 all at the same time.They are not Microsoft,their

resources are very limited,it's ok you're upset,but no need to tell lies or half-thuth.

Well its not all done by the same Team!

But its not just the 3D asset :) ...that should take few days for 1 person who does it for living.

Its all the coding behind it ...all the AFM.....never mind I thought I can collect enough to make the time frame sound reasonable :P

 

No seriously I am sure they have very very small teams but I am also sure they are as little as it makes sense with what the market allows them.

Its neither a "game engine" nor do they make profit like BF3 etc.

But lets not restart a discussion about that again.

At the end of the day (proverbial)... its all gonna get released and will be superior for its kind!

 

Starting right now with FC3 release for the SFM fans!

As a non-Hog pilot, I haven't kept up with Nevada. What exactly is EDGE? My understanding is that it's a new terrain technology, but what exactly does it do for the sim?

Think it stands for Eagle Dynamics Graphics Engine. But I think it stands for Endlessly Delayed Graphics Engine. Only kidding.

Will it support multiple cores ? I think that would really be the most useful feature of the new engine and it would boost the fps a lot.
