And the F-15C is NOT getting an AFM in FC3. I don't know where you read this, but it simply isn't true.

 

I never said that. When I say AFM for F15, I meant the F15E module.

 

ED products have never been about balance.

 

I was commenting (speculating) on why people are complaining, not whether ED products are about balance or not. By the way, I am not sure if your statements about ED's take on balance (that they are never about balance) represents a fact that is so far true, or a strategic route that they plan to follow. If it is a fact as it stands so far, you are of course right, and I think it is something needs to be changed. If it were their strategy, then I would be utterly disappointed.

 

Your comments about being technically balanced means being identical, and that war doesn't have a balance, are 'technically' true, of course. But they are nothing I meant, and have nothing to do with what I said.

Though I've never used Lock On Gold, not sure it was released in my country, but I'm fairly sure the LOMAC disc in it is a "standard" LOMAC disc, while the FC1 disc introduces Starforce. Might be wrong though.

 

 

Not Lock On Gold, I have Lock On Platinum though and the LOMAC disk included is, from what I can tell, a standard disk (no Starforce).

Just one question: Will LO:FC3 need "master server" connection (i.o.w. internet access all the time) as all DCS-products up to now?

For multiplayer, yes, since it's integrated in DCS World. It's DCS World connecting to the server, not FC3 per se. FC3 is "only" a module that plugs into World.

 

For single player, no product requires Master Server access.

I have to say as a Flanker fanatic i'm a little disappointed the the Su27 didnt get a new cockpit/model but I can see the bigger picture. Really hoping ED gives the Flanker some loving in due course...

If I dont pay for FC3 what am I losing from single and multiplayer game?

I already own DCS A-10C, BS2, DCS world and DCS CA..

If it is so, then I expect ED releases new patch/fix for DCS-World too to address those known and persisting MP master-server connection problems. Otherwise there will be practically no multiplayer in FC3...

Lots of whining in this thread. I'm more into hifi study sims. But i can't wait to fly CAP with Su-33 and F-15's. FC3 is not targeting the DCS market.

 

"AFM" landings and takeoffs is awesome, and this change flipped the coin, im gonna buy it! :joystick:

 

And for all the haters, you don't have to buy it, and you don't have to fly with FC3 players.

Host your own server without the FC3 aircrafts. Easy.

You are only loosing the oportunity to fly all fc3 planes,that's it.If you want

to fly a nice cap mission covering some hogs friends you can't;unless you buy FC3

Also (really serious now) just how much would it cost to hire professional modeler and coder to get such 3D model of external and cockpit of 1 aircraft? Would raising funds for such a project/order be in order/possible?

Oh no! Not CA all over again! :no_sad: Waited for over a month after the announcement of the BETA release. I really hope that isn't the case again, but I expect to wait a while, at least. I will just have to suck it up for whatever happens though. I know you're kidding BTW. ;)

Yes.

 

FC3 is a DCS World module. As such, it cannot run outside DCS World.

 

LOCKON is required for legal reasons, just like FC2.

No decision on how that'll be handled yet. I'd guess we might see the current "base" forum under lock on moved to a subforum (like the current Vanilla/FC1 subsection) and have it replaced with a new one for FC3. Remains to be seen.
