tflash Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Super, this fixathon with the new updater works smooth! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
lokitexas Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I am using KA-50 free flight Sukhumi as a benchmark. BS2 1.1.1.1 - 30-55 fps flying around the city. World 1.2.0 - 30-45 fps flying around the city. World 1.2.1 - 17-25 fps flying around the city. World 1.2.1 5099 - 17-25 fps flying around the city, with huge load times. World 1.2.1 6055 - 17-25 fps flying around the city, with huge load time. World 1.2.1 6120 - 27-34 fps flying around the city, faster load times. Settings are all on high except Water = low and Heat Blur and Civ traffic = off. 16 msaa, HDR normal, Vsync, Cockpit Shadows, TSAA off. Looking up with trackIR gives me a solid 60fps. Any small view of land (any kind) drops the frames again, even if it is just a corner of the screen. Looking to the back at the headrest of the seat (all black view), max 30fps. External views give 30-37 fps, when it used to give 45-55. Hope this helps, hardware in sig. i5 3570k @ 4.3 560ti GTX 2gig 8gig RAM Intel SSD Win7 64bit

Yskonyn Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I have no start menu entry for DCS world. Is there a command line option you need to add to running DCS_Updater.exe to force it to check? Running the file alone just starts DCSW for me. AlphaLima Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 A 560ti is a mid class GPU.... not everything should be on HIGH, or 16MSAA for that matter. 560Ti here, had everything on high with 4xMSAA on 1.2 and a consistent 40fps upwards of 50-60 if i was away from the ground a fair bit, maybe down in the 20s when on the ramp. Now im struggling to break 25 in flight with the same settings. Rest is i5 2500K @ 4.4, 8GB, running on the SSD.

Exorcet Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I think the graphics settings need more options. Not just more presets to cycle through, but some of the options that can only be changed directly in the files. Hopefully that would allow a wider range of hardware to find a good mix of settings. Snaut Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I just installed DCS A-10 after a few months hiatus. It updated itself to 6120. I have a problem that there is a windows 95 style mouse cursor on the screen all the time in game, it flickers and changes into a yellow cross from time to time. Before this update the cursor appeared as yellow cross and only when activated. Is there any way to restore this behaviour? MSI GTX 770 2GB -> 1920x1200, MSI H97M, Xeon 1231v3, 16GB

Leto Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 fps slightly better but not as good as 1.2.0 mouse cursor still annoying still severe micro stutters... sometimes 3-4 times in one second loading time better, but not as fast as 1.2.0 still big difference between lights on/lights off on aircraft (10-15 fps) new apu sound is no improvement...on the contrary Gau impact explosions look "comic" style... I would appreciate a menu option for the alleged eye-candy on explosions like Gau/CBU's... they cause a severe impact on fps and should be possible to turn on/off [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Ariescon.com Intel i7-6700K | 32GB RAM | NVIDIA GTX 1080 | 1TB m.2 SSD | TM Warthog | Logitech G-35 | TrackIR 5 | Windows 10 Ultimate 64bit | 3 monitor setup @5760x1080 | Occulus Rift
airdog Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I run everything on high. I run at a resolution of 4080x2160. I export MFD's, cmsc, cmsp, clock, CDU, UHF preset, RWR, UHF Frequency and the preset on the UHF radio control head. All of these exports run to 3 touchscreens separate from my main screen. I use Helios and am using windowed mode and get in excess of 40+fps with a slight dip into the 30's when explosions are going off. Load times are way better with this update. Yskonyn Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 (edited) I am very happy with the new build! Performance on my system has been restored. No more stutters, except for explosions. I do have an occasional artifact, though; Building textures flicker from solid black back to their texture when flying low. Not all of them and not all the time, though. Just occasionally. I don't know if I find the new APU sound an improvement, but then again I never heard the real thing. :) And its annoying that you still have to ALT-TAB in and out to restore the clickable cockpit. But, I love the new tweaked flight model of 1.2! Banking hard under G-load now results in possible wingdips. Proper spins can be achieved with agressive rudder input now and when banking while tightening the turn with rudder input now properly results in a slip and 'gravity descent' (for the lack of a better term). Cool stuff and more challenging to fly! Also the drag coefficients seem to have been tweaked, as the loadout now has a much more pronounced effect on the drag of the aircraft. Edited October 3, 2012 by Yskonyn [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Asus Z390-E, 32GB Crucial Ballistix 2400Mhz, Intel i7 9700K 5.0Ghz, Asus GTX1080 8GB, SoundBlaster AE-5, G15, Streamdeck, DSD Flight, TM Warthog, VirPil BRD, MFG Crosswind CAM5, TrackIR 5, KW-908 Jetseat, Win 10 64-bit ”Pilots do not get paid for what they do daily, but they get paid for what they are capable of doing.
