Who knows if they plan on making a profile for the warthog. I know i plan on making my own profile set up for the Warthog, Just not sure how i plan on doing the throtal. i may end up using the Mic switch forward and back as the twist grip throtal. And after i get it set up decent i am sure i will post it on the user forms the same as the P-51 profile me and sunshine made.

Any word on an included Warthog profile being worked on?

I am not sure there will be a dedicated Warthog profile created, but in any case the real controls are pretty basic. The two most frequent buttons used are the trigger and radio PTT, both on the cyclic. Both of these should work at default I believe. You may have to setup your control axes, though.

Had an idea to do a FM test, just to see what would happen. Entered a hover just over a building roof and kept the collective in place. Slowly moved sideways away from the roof and when the helicopter was past the roof, it descended rapidly as ground effect from the roof disappeared under the rotor. The helicopter entered a hover again low to the ground.

Hi all

As i understand both KA-50 and UH-1H don't suffer from Ground Resonance, because of the type of rotor system for both Helicopters.

But, if we make a "virtual ground resonance", by simply lost one ,or more blades of the rotor, the helicopter will shake violently. and i guess, in real life this shake will break the helicopter similarly to regular ground resonance, is it make sense? and for now in DCS KA-50, those shakes do nothing to break the helicopter apart.

Second thing is dynamic rollover, i tried to enter the KA-50 to this condition, and because of the ka-50 design, it seems it can't enter this phenomena, but will it be for the UH-1H?

I don't think the dynamic rollover is due to the design of the helicopter but rather the surface modeling in the sim. If there's enough friction between the gear and ground or somekind of obstacle to prevent movement in the direction of roll, it should happen to any helicopter.

Posted

For Dynamic Rollover to occur 3 criteria had to be meet:

- enough lift generated, to roughly equal helicopter weight

- a side force

- a pivot point (skid or wheel touching ground, or hang on an object)

The classic design with tail rotor may be more susceptible to this because the tail rotor creates a side force in one direction at all times (the design is also less susceptible in the other direction for the same reason).

Now because of the helicopter design - width between contact points, height of center of gravity, mass of the spinning main rotor - etc. you have three different limits beyond the helicopter will tip over:

- angle of bank or speed of bank for dynamic rollover to result

- angle of bank for static rollover - this one is usually twice as high, and is non recoverable

The only way to recover from developing dynamic rollover, as long as there is still time (critical angle or angle/sec. is not yet achieved) is to either lower, or rise collective - either planting helicopter firmly on the ground, or lift into hover.

EB-1, I guess youre also busy with testing 1.2.3, though do you have some inside story from Huey development or some things the team have achieved the last weeks?:)

More things complete. More bugs ironed out. More details in system modeled. Can't say more than what you can assume. The longer it is delayed, the more complete the aircraft will be for the pre-release.

My guess is still on going. I think EB would be kind enough to tell us if it got solved by now if it did. I really dont think we will be seeing any real new info, unless its the legal info has been sorted, till after 1.2.3. I have a good feeling about Feb. for some good news :)

This looks quite nice and I hope we can show some screenshots of it soon.

What is about all the media legal stuff? Aren´t there any new infos around to provide us at least a few images?

<sarcasm>

Is it because the lawyers (or whoever is responsible for this) are being on strike like the lawyers and judges in Greece? Or do they simply have better things to do like drinking coffee or playing cards, watching the latest Playmate???

</sarcasm>

EB-1´s update is nearly a 3 month old one, so I somehow have difficulties to understand that legal stuff, what is it all about that at all?

I really want to attract a few of my friends into DCS. But they are more interested in Helicopters. But I cant do anythings without any media stuff

just a question - and please don't get me wrong... but why is it so hard to get ANY suitable information...?

based on this forum we know that many people are willing to spend their money in a software-product and they/we can't wait to get it to "play" with.

i beleive it would be just fine to get an "official update" from the devs so every 2-3 weeks with just some sentences like

"today we finished the xy-modelling" or "first flight tests positive" or "our lawers have some work on the legal stuff, we expect to..."

give us just some small meat-pieces in a shorter random sequence and were lucky

now theres nearly just rumours - in my opinion thats not a good advertising method

the next time it would be better to not announce a new module with a homepage which is "under reconstruction" for months and so do not make us "nervous" ;-)

just surprise us with something new... for download NOW

as above, please don't get me wrong... i'm just curios

BUT: -> you'll have my money

My guess is they were pretty much ready to release, then the legal issue arose and grounded everything to a halt. I mean they were citing a 2012 release with only 3 months left in 2012. Plus the ICON being present in modern DCS world video's.

If you think the process of programming takes a long time, legal issues take WAY longer...those guys aren't jonzing to fly the latest dcs fighter, they're more interested in billing their $500 an hour rates and how to maximize that ;).

Jk on the last part (sorta)...but yes, once I heard legal issues...my heart sank...those are problems outside of the control of developers, no amount of OT hours programming/testing will get us closer to release.

Best of luck team, looking forward to the eventual release.

I think you're spot on with that last part IMO. Lawyers are vampires!!

Also I think it's a possibility that we may not even see the Huey! IIRC in the IL-2 series, I believe it was Pacific Fighters, were 1C planned on releasing the TBF/TBM Avenger. It got snuffed because of legal issues.

Can someone explain please what kind of legal stuff are we talking about here actually? Is that about certain images that are used in the Module? Is that the whole Project in all? What is that, that is delaying for "legal" reasons?

I believe trademark infringement maybe?? Bell Helicopter may want a piece of the pie?? Who knows...:noexpression:
