I do not know why a section dedicated to bookmakers hasn't been created yet. It definitely has its place on this website/forum :)

I so agree. :)

Then why say it can easily be ported and how much time would that take?

Im not gonna argue about workload, I had initially planned to do it, but other projects have taken priority, i had started to convert one of the smaller meshes when DCS World was Initially launched.

That looks good Skate. Hope you will eb able to finish it one day when you have some time left from your other projects.

Awesome model

It's actually one of my older ones, there is a new one in the pipeline though, but like I said other projects Im doing have priority for the time being.

Theres always the carrier model that Supervasia created, i have no idea if this will be coming to a future DCS or not but it looks amazing

In all honesty there are a lot of other smaller things, like them improving the visualization of water. Boats bobbing in the water and being affected by the weather. It all adds to the final product :)

Apart from these new aircraft being in development for DCS, it seems there is a hint at a new terrain other than Nevada being developed by a 3rd party (in early stages):

Certainly better suited for naval ops. Looks a little like Nevada...

Maybe I'm the only one here, but I would like to see more "hand-crafted" terrains (like Georgia) rather than orhoimage low-resolution blurfest that looks amazing from FL350, but like Monet's painting from down below. I don't want to count pixels again! But I guess it's less work to just download (purchase) aerial images and throw it on terrain mesh. :(

It´s hard to make a comparison with Monet sound like an insult, but you somehow managed to do that. :D

Cut them some slack. It´s hard to say because it´s far from finished and a new terrain wouold certainly benefit DCS, even it is more like the first Nevada project.

Well if you look at impressionist paintings from very close, you can see just bunch of colored spots. The beauty comes with distance. Same for the ##m/px compressed aerial images.

And even if I'm skeptic most of the time, I'm usually waiting to see the results rather that mock something from the very beginning. On the other hand, there are hundreds of gigabytes of photosceneries available for FSX and other sims. You just can't use magic wand to overcome problems that comes with orthoimages. Of course there are some beautiful hi-res sceneries, but there are two problems:

1. Hi-resolution aerial images are usually available only for interesting places like big cities and not for "land of nobody" in the middle of desert.

2. Even if you happen to get hi-res imagery, it will be very large. In FSX there's no problem of having 500GB+ photo sceneries. I remember having Arizona in decent resolution which was 80GB or so. And still it wasn't so sharp as hand-crafted sceneries.
