Erm....IRIS Simulations..Where?

In fact, what are confirmed to be still active third parties and projects?

Only Belsimtek & VEAO are releasing modules or at least giving out regular updates.

With the recent Mig-21 fiasco, I wouldn't hold my breath for other 3rd parties that are already being strangely quiet.

Not true, I dont give weekly or even monthly updates, but I'm working on at least 3 modules, w/ the Priority/Primary being the F-100D, but I have a job and stuff that takes up alot of time, so there are stretches where I dont get to work on it for weeks at a time.

Easy Rodney.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Man I could really use a navigator right about now.

I'm amazed that this thread is still alive. IRIS' interests are not in DCS and that is pretty much clear. They've abandoned the project long time ago. What their -future- plans might hold for DCS is a different matter though..but I don't see much point in discussing it..

Agreed Kenan. The moderators should kill this thread to take away the urge to discuss IRIS.

If they abandoned the project, then why would they post this? http://www.irissimulations.com.au/forum/announcements-1/dcs-world-and-iris#p51

As for DCS, I have no images or media to show off on that front as yet. Rest assured, that when we do, we'll be sure to post it here!

Hi Iris, I love your airplanes, eventhough I'm quite new to this flightsim world, but either way I was watching your progress in the DCS forums as well. I was sadly surprised that you removed the Iris section until later but I just realized your status of "3rd Party Developer" at DCS has changed to "Junior Member" recently(??).

Hi Shoshana,

I wasn't aware of the forum change, as far as we are concerned it is business as usual for us. :) Lots to do, not much time to do it in.

David.

And your link to the official statement on this is... Where?

The official statement from Iris is it's business as usual:

As for the other projects you mention, all will become clear the closer we come to having something significant to show.

On That note, every forum member title change or forums / threads being moved around doesn't always mean what everyone assumes it means.

Thanks for that info Skate.. I am REALLY getting tired of folks trolling these forums stating crap based on zero information... Based on what I read today alone, nearly every 3rd party developer is either GONE or on their way out and that is obviously crap.

Stop with the BS postings saying that <fill in your 3rd party dev here> is gone or <fill in whatever airplane is your pet> is dead...

? Strange isn't it. According to their last statement they are still unquestionably committed to dcs unless you hear otherwise from an official source.

But if you look at their site they are constantly churning out mods, and wip pics for every sort of aeroplane that you can imagine all for either p3d or fsx. I would like them to just put us out our misery if they feel dcs is no longer for them, the prospect of a tomcat was so appealing. But I guess we still have to wait and wonder. I am surprised that no other 3rd party devs were not interested in the big cat. The tomcat would sell without question.

Until ED comes up with dual cockpit code there really can't be a Tomcat so i am betting that they will be real quiet until that code is provided... (I woudn't put time into an airframe until I was CERTAIN that I had all of the pieces required from ED.) Once dual cockpit code is successful I will bet we will start hearing more from some of the DEVS and different airframes...

It's not really dual cockpit control that is the issue (that is actually solvable).

It's the utter behemoth of a complex aircraft that the F-14 is.

Well alrighty then! I stand corrected...

I thought dual cockpit code was the holdup on multiple modules and was the cause of several of them being delayed... ??

HUEY I am looking at you! LOL

yes, the flight model is the biggest problem and of course the other systems and avionics i guess

and iirc last time when Spanky was in the forum then he was looking for c++ programmer

LOL.. Yeah not having a C++ programmer on staff might put a massive crimp in one's ability to complete this module!
