Suchacz
I was living under the impression that every module will be integrated, because otherwise it would break the idea of DCS world. Somewhere was stated, that only the modules from ED partners (like BST) will be integrated and kept autoupdated. All 3rd party modules won't have this support, keeping the modules up-to-date will be 3rd party devs' job made by new versions or updates distributed separately by their private chanels. ED Team NineLine Posted August 2, 2013 ED Team Share Posted August 2, 2013 I am sure as we get closer they will clear this all up, I am sure c0ff or someone has some sort of sinister plan already.... or a "Opt In" Option to check off, so the updater knows when to ask if you want to update to the beta version, if "Opt In" option is not checked, it will ignore beta versions.. Blaze
Yes it's possible. As testers we usually have many installs at a time. It's pretty easy as stated earlier, and once the open beta begins instructions would surely follow. Witchking
I would guess those are renders from whatever 3D Program they are using and not in game shots. I agree...I think those are some good renders. But based on the latest IG/nevada screens Wags showed a few weeks ago, the lighting model needs some major updating. The new IL-2 game looks terrific and hope ED can find a way to incorporate that kind of lighting into DCS. eurofor
They are. There wouldn't be any need to mention it in the friday update if there was no new manual. For the separate modules the FC3 manual was already included before the patch (at least with the Su-25) and it wasn't modified. I don't have a Su-25A manual, neither in the start menu nor in the DCS folder. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

159th_Falcon
DCS Open Beta Testing As DCS World ever increases in complexity and scope, along with a continued expansion of new modules, the testing task has reached the point where we cannot expect our internal and external test teams to catch all the problems in a reasonable amount of time. As such, starting with DCS 1.2.6 we will first be releasing new DCS versions as open beta. Our team and the external testers will be closely monitoring reports and entering valid bugs into our bug tracking database. We will ask reports only be submitted for new problems that did not exist in the prior version. We sincerely hope this will improve the quality of the final version. How are NON ED Beta testers going to assure the bug they found is in fact new? Work in Progress? Solved and re-appeared? If by means of just this forums, that's going to be pretty much impossible. Specially because most regular bug reports are made without mention of version number. So, any plans already on how this will be organized. Or still in the making? joey45
So, any plans already on how this will be organized. Or still in the making? IMHO, I would add a new section on here 'DCS Beta Bugs'. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. ED Team NineLine Posted August 2, 2013 ED Team Share Posted August 2, 2013 We are discussing this, on the best way to keep track, and avoid redundant reports. We already have a forum for reporting bugs, we dont need more, we just need to utilize what we have better. How are NON ED Beta testers going to assure the bug they found is in fact new? Work in Progress? Solved and re-appeared? If by means of just this forums, that's going to be pretty much impossible. 159th_Falcon
Maybe make a prefix compulsory for Beta Bugs in the thread title? Like simply "beta .5.xxxx" where xxxx is exact version number. Or maybe use tags instead. Easier to search for whit the search engine. cichlidfan
How are NON ED Beta testers going to assure the bug they found is in fact new? Seriously. Right now people report bugs only to be told ED knows about it already. Without a published list there is no reference except hundreds of threads. ED Team NineLine Posted August 2, 2013 ED Team Share Posted August 2, 2013 Seriously. Right now people report bugs only to be told ED knows about it already. Without a published list there is no reference except hundreds of threads. This. Obviously the system has to change to this new method of testing, but we will adapt and make it work. Better handling of reported bugs in the forums is key, but not the only thing to address.
